How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe really loved the location & the different areas of the house for relaxing & chatting.
We would like to advise you re the bbq. It was VERY dangerous when we turned it on & could have caused a SEVERE burning to the person turning it on. The controls on the bbq are in need of urgent repair, especially on the left hand side of the bbq. Quite dangerous! Also with 3 bedrooms in use in one part of the house & 1 bathroom, it would really be great to have extra towel rails in there. Perhaps a heated rail in there would be great.

Verified reviewBeautiful home with a great entertaining layout including the bbq area, indoor/outdoor extension, fire pit, large kitchen, comfortable lounge with fireplace. Very suitable for our family gathering. Love the view out the back -the bush, the granite. Location is perfect only just outside of town.
Like others have said the fireplace just doesn’t want to heat the room even following the recommendations. While I don’t care for wifi it would have been handy to connect to the tv for a footy game. Gardens will need some loving soon.

Verified reviewThe house was in a great location—close to town—and spacious enough for two families, with plenty of potential to be a lovely stay in autumn or spring. However, there were a few things that made our stay less comfortable than expected.
The house was very cold, and aside from the fireplace (which didn’t heat the entire space), there were no other heaters provided. This makes me assume it would also be very hot in summer, as there were no air conditioning units. The hot water in the showers wasn’t really hot—especially uncomfortable in such a cold house. The stove light didn’t work, which made cooking difficult; I had to use my phone torch to see. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee capsules were provided, which was a bit disappointing. We also received a note on arrival mentioning a quick changeover and asking us to text if we left earlier than 10am. It made us feel rushed before we had even settled in.

No wifi so no Netflix etc on tvs not majorly important but nice to have a choice and the photo of the breakfast hamper on bookings pics you don’t get that you get a pack of Tim tams

I have removed the breakfast hamper picture as this was an available extra and over the last 3 years in business you are the first person to assume it was included so thank you for bringing it to my attention. Sorry about the wifi but it is cleary stated on the bookings page that this is a wifi free property.

Verified reviewBeautiful and Peaceful location. The home was large ( 5 bed and 3 bathrooms) and well supplied - including high chairs, disabled access and good kitchen with Pod Coffee machine. We also saw kangaroos on a regular basis in the back yard.

Verified reviewClean spacious house, plenty of room for 2 families. The kangaroos and wallabies that come up to the house at dawn and dusk. The owners are responsive to any queries. My dad complains about everything and for once he was very happy.
Its expensive but its a lovely house and we will stay again.

Dish washer didn't work. BBQ was a bit dirty we had to clean it before use.

It must have been working for most of the time you were a guest with us though because i noticed you used all the dishwasher capsules that were provided. I will pass on your feedback about the bbq, it is cleaned after each guest vacates if it has been used. Thank you for taking the time to review our beautiful property
