How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing wrong with the place at all. Room is pretty humid, was tricky figuring out what heat/AC setting was best. Breakfast was simple (cereal, breads, juice, coffee, tea, fruit) but enough to get us going. Shower is not private, something to note.
Great location, staff were friendly and could leave our luggage with them. They brought our bags up to the room once it was ready while we explored the city. Room was super comfortable and had all you need and bed was comfortable. Can only access the hotel with keycard or if staff let you in, so high security.

Breakfast was a small continental breakfast. More than enough for the day. The room was small but beautifully decorated. Considering how busy the road outside was the room was blissfully quiet

The noise from the air con and the street
The staff were friendly and provided helpful information. The breakfast was lovely and even accommodated from 5am for the Syd marathon start time. The bed was extremely comfortable and different types of pillows made sleep even better. Dimmer light options also created a wonderful environment. We did have to use earplugs to sleep given the noise from the road (our room was on the side of the main road) and there was also unusual noises that sounded like water running continuously from the air-conditioning unit. Other than this our stay was lovely and we would use this hotel again.

It was $500 a night due a busy weekend in Sydney, it is a good hotel and have stayed a lot, however, it's not a 500 a night hotel.
it's a really decent little hotel, close to central if coming by train. Solid breakfast, good staff that make a good coffee

Area and street next to the hotel is a bit rough - still safe but not clean.
True to the photos - small but comfortable room with great decor. Breakfast was a bonus. Quiet room despite being on main road. Great coffee for breakfast.

What a great little boutique hotel! Central location, well sound-proofed from the hustle and bustle outside, with beautiful amenities, complementary breakfast and barista coffee, and lovely staff. I'll be back.

Considering the noise level of the location, inside the hotel was blissfully quiet. lovely aesthetic, simple and understated and still felt boutique.

Nothing, it’s a great place to stay! And really good value for the exceptional quality compared to other nearby hotels.
It’s a beautiful boutique hotel, all the finishes are perfect, it’s modern, clean, and everything is lovely. The room was so well put together, the king bed was super comfy. Breakfast in the morning downstairs was great, a nice continental breakfast with plenty of variety. The staff were warm and welcoming, the location is excellent and I will be booking to stay there again for sure!

Great food at breakfast Friendly staff Stunning rooms
We loved this place so much we stayed here twice in our trip to Sydney. We were over for a wedding and stayed before hand and thought we wanted to spend our last night here before we left. Great location, fantastic breakfast, lovely staff and stunning rooms. It’s so close to the train station as well.

Took a while to work out how to connect Netflix to TV via my phone. No instructions in the room. I had to call reception twice, but worked it out in end.
Tastefully designed, mood lighting and super comfortable bed in a central location.

There was nothing about my stay I didn't like.
I'm so glad I discovered this boutique gem and look forward to staying here again - it's my new preferred Sydney base. The immaculately clean, well appointed room had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. The bed was really comfortable and shower pressure good. Staff were wonderful. Location is excellent: Central station is just a few minutes walk and puts every Sydney rail line on the doorstep while the city centre and city north are an easy walk. Best of all, being on the southern part of the CBD puts the more interesting dining and entertainment options of Surry Hills and Chinatown/Haymarket within strolling distance. Stepping from the hustle and bustle of the city into the chill vibe of 202 makes it feel like a haven.

The breakfast is amazing, and the design of the common areas is beautiful. The rooms are well-equipped, the staff is very friendly, and check-in is simple—even for late arrivals. The rooftop and the view are stunning. This is my second time staying here, and I really like it—I would definitely come back again.
