How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

An enchanting gasthof nestled in forested foothills. We arrived late but to a warm welcome. Even though the kitchen was closed, Edward brought a lovely food platter. The rooms are comfy and simple - in keeping with what is a traditional gasthof.

The hotel is located in the forest and very quiet. It is a few minutes to the town. The room was very large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good.

We had a lovely stay, the staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Edwardo who went out of his way to help me with my evening meal option because I am coeliac, he totally understood and offered me an adapted meal that was delicious and my husbands meal was excellent too. The breakfast was amazing, well presented and so much choice. The rooms, bathroom and hotel in general were spotless, it was lovely and secluded in the woods, peaceful and away from it all with lovely views. Excellent value for money.

This is just a comment not a criticism and not unique to this guesthouse. Personally I do not find the European style pillow comfortable as it’s too bulky.
Polite helpful staff. Our meals-dinner and breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and all freshly made. The room was a good size for two.

Very clean and comfortable family run hotel. For us it was a convenient stopover between two destinations , so we didn't have time to appreciate the surroundings.

We had some problems with even basic English. Bathroom is small, room style is quite mixed; old (style) cupboard with modern beds made the appearance of the room a bit strange. The floor was creaking while walking on it; this can be disturbing during the night. Nevertheless, this will not ruin your stay if you plan to spend more time out.
A piece of mind in the forest, far from the noise and the traffic. Very good location if you want to enjoy the nature. Good choice of meals for the dinner and a beautiful breakfast makes the stay pleasant. Very nice building, reception area and restaurant. Easy to find and reach with bikes.

When we came for check-in the reception was empty and the number in the reception did not work.

A bit away from the villiage but not so difficult to find the hotel.
Very quite and nice hotel which is located at the foot of mountain. Staffs were nice and helpful. Chef was so kind and food was very delicious:)

For us it was not much of a problem, but our elderly aunt who was travelling with us was unhappy that the rooms were not cleaned everyday. We were told this is house policy and I can totally accept that.
The breakfast was excellent, as was the food in the restaurant. I especially appreciate that the ingredients were sourced locally. The staff was very friendly, especially with our small son. The surroundings were very quiet.
