How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Not much, the breakfast area got a little congested at times. The wifi is not the best, reminds me of 12 years ago and the shower doors are a little wonky, but overall we would stay there again.
The location was great, quiet, yet metres away from the tunnel to the old city. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. breakfast was pretty good as well. Room was pretty comfortable.

Parking can be tricky with limited spaces and access, beds could be more comfortable.

Great location to easily stroll into town, nice clean rooms and a great selection at breakfast. It was also very easy to leave our luggage when we arrived early.

Construction on the sidewalks outside! We were not offered the free public transport tickets, which were due to guest, paying the city tax. The wardrobes in the rooms were just closets with discarded doors- hinges still staying!😛

The listing says parking is available. However it does not say parking has to be reserved or it costs 10 euros per day. The reception staff say there are only 27 parking spaces for 80 odd rooms. This should be made clear in the description

Things to note about the annex: - Two sets of stairs and no lift. - No door to lock out people from the street. Ie. anyone could come to your room's door. This seemed weird even if Salzburg is a very safe city. Would be easy and nice to add another locked door to only allow access for guests to the hallway of both floors. Not possible to book a parking place for the car. Public parking is available very close though at around 24€/24h.
We stayed in the annex building 10 meters from the main hotel this time. That was fine. No air con makes the rooms very warm during hot weather, but they ventilate well at night. Very clean, ok breakfast at the main building. Excellent location at only a couple of hundred meters from the old town accessible via two tunnels. Fridge!

Location was terrific with access to public transport literally outside the hotel if you decided not to walk the 10-15mins into the old town. The bed was very comfortable and we approached the free sparking water and coffee capsules provided .

The breakfast bar was a bit cramped/crowded. Difficult to find some things as they were under the counter or had run out eg bowls and plates. Shortage of salt cellars and spoons. However, staff polite cheerful and helpful.

Convenient location close to the city centre and yet still a little off the main tourist routes. The centre can be reached via a pedestrian tunnel in about 5 minutes. Breakfasts are fine. Advantage is the possibility of parking directly at the hotel, although there is a little narrower entrance to the garage, but it can be managed with a larger car.

During our stay there were some roadworks front of the hotel, it made a bit difficult and muddy to navigate front of the hotel. On the corrdor there was a troly to collect used bed clothes and a mopping bowl. It should have been hidden for the night. In the bathroom some bits and peaces would need some retouch, for example one of the lid that covers the water tube coming out from the wall was missing. The shower cabins door had also a missing peace.
The location is excellent, 5 min walk from the old town. The underground parking is convenient and the price is better than in the parking lot next door. The breakfast is fantastic! The room was big enough to sleep for 4 of us.
