How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe Hotel Alpen Park Hotel residence is literary GREAT and top located next ot the slope! Lovely place to stay, we walked 5-7 min to the 'action' and for a few euro's up any time with a taxi which are all over. Breakfast was top, check in check out lift passes and all others excellent and super smooth! Big thanks to the Management!! we stayed at room 202 which was aprox 85sqm with two bedrooms, a great living and kitchen area, sauna and three bathrooms plus had a great patio and loved it! As for the slopes: Any beginner can start here, the lifts and slopes are easy and wide, beautiful and here is everything for every level :) On top of Katschberg2 Lift a great place to have lunch and Apre Ski at the Montana Royal.. reserve your table for high season with Pascal! He is the guy.

I do not recommend, nice apartments BUT too far out of the town and it’s not a realistic walk home with ski gear on so we ended up getting taxis most of the time at €20 each way. !!!! We had a really unpleasant experience with the manager/owner of the hotel who shouted at me in front of my young children and wife for cancelling a dinner reservation 2 hours before our time slot. My children for the rest of the vacation were scared to go near the restaurant as the “scary man” might start shouting at us again. There is absolutely no excuse for this man’s behaviour towards us and I did expect him to apologise later in the week but that was not forthcoming. I did raise this with reception but this man is the owner so there is nothing they could do. He obviously runs this hotel with fear. Restaurant is not great either the food is well below the standard you would expect. We complained about a meal on the first night and nothing was done to fix or replace as the kitchen was too busy to fix. I was then charged for the food we did not eat. I did raise concerns at reception but the ! There are so many better restaurants in Saalbach with great customer service the restaurant. Breakfast is also not great and the fruit looks like it is days old and keeps getting brought out day after day. The restaurant waiting staff were pleasant but I felt they hadn’t been trained well and seemed unaware of allergies. We ordered food for our son with allergies but didn’t feel confident the message had been passed on to the chef. Every other restaurant we visited in the town was great so this place is obviously not the norm for the area. The reception staff seem unwilling to recommend any restaurants in the village, I’m not too sure why this is so we just tried a few and were not disappointed with any of them. The pool in the hotel is barely warm enough and we only went in once. As it was too cold to enjoy. And there are no facilities around the pool just a wooden deck.

Your feedback is mainly limited to our restaurant and an alleged incident that we cannot understand after a thorough examination and discussions with all parties involved (guests and employees). We attach great importance to respectful behaviour. As the allegations described are demonstrably untrue, we are unfortunately forced to reject these claims. Probably also the reason why no one from our team, as responded or apologised, as you write. Regarding the location of our hotel, we would like to emphasise that we provide clear information in advance. Our hotel is located directly on the ski piste and is easily accessible via the Kohlmais ski run. However, it is understandable that not every other route can lead directly to us after the lift closes. With regard to allergies and intolerances, we would like to point out that we ask our guests to provide us with this information when at the time of booking so that we can take it into account for the included breakfast. In your case, however, we did not have any such information. available. As apartment hotel, we offer an à la carte restaurant in the evening and not half board. We are therefore not always able to fulfil special catering requests, but we do offer some gluten-free and vegan alternatives on our menu. Our employee correctly informed you that the breadcrumbs contain egg. Finally, we would like to emphasise that our team more than appreciates the leadership and human qualities of our boss and that nobody is afraid of him. Perhaps this is another reason why our team has been working here together for many years.

Verified reviewClose to center - steep walking way only 10 min. Alternative way 20 min. Good view. Room size ok and all fresh and new. Provided also a starter package for dishwasher etc. Simple quick check in and lovely breakfast. Had one dinner there and was absolutely ok. Joker card included which provides many opportunities. Was also able to postpone my arrival due to incident which was very much appreciated. Quiet surrounding and hotel.
Beds were rather hard. Coffee from Coffee machine at breakfast was not good - filter coffee not available any longer. Staffbhelped out with instant coffee. Recommend to offer regular filter coffee.

Nevertheless, we have made every effort to make your stay as pleasant as possible by opening aour restaurant in the hotel and offering a ski-shuttle service to the lifts according to the schedule. We suggest that you visit us and Saalbach again, perhaps not at the end of the season, to get a better impression of the destination
