Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe swimming pool is a bit on the cool side - around 28-30°C which is chilly for some - and really a splash pool, not for doing lengths. Also, be aware that at least some of the balconies are shared, so you might have someone smoking outside your window.
The staff were lovely, the location is excellent, with ski rental just diagonally opposite, there's an underground garage so your car isn't on the street or iced up. Restaurant is excellent, get half board if you can afford it.

United KingdomI’m not going to mark it down for this as it’s a minor thing but the hotel didn’t have/ give guests irons in their rooms. Slightly annoying but that’s all.
This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are lovely and the staff are very nice and friendly. The location of the hotel was perfect as it was only a 5 minute walk from the gondola. The food for breakfast and dinner was fantastic every single day. And to top things off, our main waiter, Sarlia, is the nicest guy I have ever met. He was very friendly and polite throughout our entire stay. He really did make our stay more enjoyable. The spa facilities were also very nice and relaxing. 100% will be staying again.

GermanyThe Breakfast Buffet and a la carte service was excellent...the evening dinner menu was also really enjoyable and delicious and presented in a very modern and creative way. A massive thanks to Florian in the bar and to Hrvoje, Michal and Letitia in the Fine dining restaurant for making us feel so welcome during our stay...and a special thanks to René for his guidance during our Smugglers excursion and for the fun and laughter during our trip with him up the Peaks. We highly recommend staying and eating in Hotel Salnerhof, the staff were fantastic and very accomodating...thanks again for making our trip so memorable🙂 John and Renate

South AfricaWe shared a balcony and couldn’t use it at all due to the chronic smokers next door. Would appreciate if the property instilled a no smoker policy on the room balconies. It is very unpleasant and we couldn’t even open windows in mornings and evenings to ventilate our room.
The location was superb, the spa area was wonderful, the room cleaning staff and waiters and were super friendly. The food was incredible, but way way too much food :) We loved our stay overall.

Saudi ArabiaShared balcony. Since we were visiting Austria for the first time, we were surprised to see a shared balcony. However, if you want a private balcony, make sure to book room/suite in the highest floor.
Salnerhof exceeded our expectations. Super friendly staff. Delicious dinner. We were hesitant to add the dinner option in our reservation, and we were fortunate to add the dinner. We enjoyed the dinner options everyday and the service was topnotch. Definitely we are coming back in our future vacations.

SwitzerlandLocation was good but there was some road noise. Our room was meant to have a view but the view was of the apartments opposite. Shame that you could not use the showers post check out as after a day skiing it would have been nice to have a shower before a drive home. Other hotels in Ischgl offer this so it’s something they should consider.
Great food and waiting staff. Nice rooms and personal touches.

NetherlandsI recently stayed at Hotel Salnerhof Superior in Ischgl, Austria, from the 20th to the 27th of January 2024. Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. First and foremost, the price I paid for my stay was 585 euros per night for half-board. Considering this hefty price tag, I expected a superior experience, but unfortunately, the hotel fell short on several fronts. The food and wine provided during my stay were average at best. Given the premium I paid for the half-board option, I anticipated a more exceptional culinary experience, but the offerings were rather lackluster. One of the major drawbacks was the ski storage facility. It was small, cramped, and emitted an unpleasant odor. Moreover, there was practically no sitting space in the ski storage area, making it inconvenient for guests to prepare for their skiing adventures comfortably. Another issue was with the ski boot drying facilities. Unfortunately, the boots did not dry properly overnight, leaving me with damp and uncomfortable gear each morning. This oversight impacted my overall enjoyment of the ski trip. The sauna/spa area, despite being a highlight for many guests, was not well designed. The layout was subpar, and the overall experience did not match the expectations set by a hotel claiming to be "superior." The most disappointing incident occurred on my last day. After a morning of skiing, I was denied access to the shower in the sauna because it was past 10 o'clock, and officially, I was no longer considered a guest. This strict policy was surprising and unprecedented, especially considering that I had paid for the full duration of my stay. It's disheartening that the hotel would prioritize such policies over guest satisfaction. In conclusion, the term "superior" in the hotel's name is misleading and seems like a joke.
