The location of the hotel is great, very close to the bus stop, which made it easy to get around. The staff who welcomed us were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place!

It is just a minor thing. The cleaning lady tried to enter the room for cleaning at ~8:30 am, without knocking on the door So should wake up and prepare well in time! :-)

The hotel ideally located and with beautiful view. Arrival and departure very smooth, owner is very very nice, gave a lot of information. The cards received were super useful. Really great stay.

A fridge in the room would have been nice. The room was also quite cold (it was 16-17 degrees outside) and there was no heat in the radiators. Would have been nice with a vending machine with snacks/drinks as the supermarkets are far away

We really really liked the hotel. Super nice and friendly staff! Very helpful in regards to what to do in Zell am See and the hiking trails. It was perfectly located next to the cable cars that took us to the most stunning views. Nice view from our balcony.

Our stay at Hotel Margarete was excellent. The accommodation and pleasant atmosphere were great – everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. Our whole family really enjoyed the stay. The breakfasts were delicious. The hotel has a perfect location as a starting point for trips to the surrounding mountains. We also truly appreciated how peaceful and quiet the place is. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a Wonderfull stay at Pension Margarete. The place is beautiful situated, everything is well taken care of to the minimum detail and the treated us very well. Specially Lauri, Georg and the cleaning lady always had a smile for us and would help in all (not a few) my questions. If I come back to Zeel am See we will certainly come back to Pension Margarete.

Unfortunately no restaurants and store close enough. For dinner you should go to the town center.

Pension Margarete is wonderful place to spend your ski vacation. Placed just few meters from the ski lift. Just leave the hotel and your are in gondola heading to the top. The owner and his family were very very kind and helpful. We had a problem with one of our cars and were behind us. Thank you for your cooperation. Very good breakfast was served. It was hot enough and clean.

The only problem was shortage of nearby restaurants in the evening. There are plenty in Zell itself but the last bus down departs shortly after 6pm and the walk back is 30 mins uphill or a taxi at Euro12.

Breakfast gets 4.5 stars. Generous provision of fruit and nuts on top of the usual. Bread choices good. Likewise Coffee/tea. A fair-sized screen at the end of the room silently screens camcorders from the mountain tops. A massive snowfall on day of departure prompted me to stay on a further 48 hours. Wife returned as planned but I was offered the double room at single rate, and the room sported balconies in two directions.

Smoking on balcony allowed and if someone smokes you won't open a window even if it's 30 degrees. Austria is still in 1950 when it comes to the smoking situation. Bread from a gas station supermarket is not acceptable at this price point. Location is not very convenient, e.g. the bus from city runs every 90 mins on evenings. Room service enters the room at 9:00 without even knocking, strange.

We liked everything

We loved everything about this guesthouse - the staff and owners, the breakfast, the location, the room, the balcony, the view, the decor, the cleanliness..... We shall definitely stay here again. There is a regular bus which leaves almost outside the guesthouse which connects to buses going to all the interesting locations offered as part of the Zell am See card. It is also possible to walk to the guesthouse, but it is very steep. There were slightly different things offered as part of the breakfast each day, which we liked.
