How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the street in front was quite noise, it was not nice to sleep with the window open. The bathroom was also quite small and without surfaces to put stuff or hangers to hang it. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. There were no option for lactose free yogurt or milk, nor vegan types of yogurt or milk. It was overall ok if you are not picky, but we would have appreciated a bit more choice. It was also not super clean, and the TV was not working (there was no signal)
It's news to me that we don't have coat hangers. Unfortunately, they cowardly left an anonymous review, so I can't check which room they were staying in. However, I assume the room staff would have said something if that were the case. They seem to have completely overlooked the fact that they booked a 2-star guesthouse and not a 3 or 4-star hotel. So why should we offer vegan yogurt or lactose-free anything? We've offered vegan options before and then thrown them away because no one ate them. If you ask, we always have oat milk for guests who want it. I don't know how long you were guests in our hotel (anonymous review), but the TVs sometimes don't work because previous guests or guests currently using the room adjust the TV. I can see you're not a fan of personal contact; otherwise, you would have said something, and we would have fixed it. I also see that, in retrospect, anonymously and in writing, you´re not short of words.

Breakfast was weak and a sign saying you have to pay what you don t eat. This is ridiculos. If you don t like something you have to pay it.. Also people were put at the same table from different rooms. Payed 151 euro for 1 night.. diesn t worth those money at all
I wonder what's wrong with you. What kind of outrageous review is that? First of all, you booked a 3-bed room for 2 people. I'm sorry if you can't read. Then to get upset in the review about not being able to book a double room is really borderline. You had a table to yourself at breakfast. No other people sat at the table with you. Why do you say such a thing? Would you have liked to have had the breakfast room to yourselves? If you say our breakfast is meager, then I'd like to know what you eat for breakfast. Regarding the sign, I have to say that food is very expensive in Austria and it's incomprehensible that there are people who simply don't eat mountains of food and then we have to throw it all away. In other countries, people have nothing to eat. I tell you, you don't need to write me or my children a note to let them know that food waste is wrong. I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Cleaning needs to be improved as the floor was not moped and air vent was dusty. I recommend to change the towels with white qualitative ones, as they look old and dump.

Verified reviewEverything was super nice and clean, we had a great time there. The view from our window is facing towards the mountain range and it was very pleasant to look at every morning. The host was amazing. We didn’t know that there’s no Uber or Bolt around the area and it was raining when we arrived at the nearby train statation, we tried to call taxi but they refused to take us, then I tried to contact the host and she just came and picked us up by herself.

-On mistake I did booking for 2 people but arrived alone. The owner told me the price would be much cheaper for just 1 person, so I ask to kindly change the booking for one. They said it was not possible and depending from booking. So I called booking and it was changed to 1 person but the price per night was not changed.
