How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazingly quiet location, exemplary cleanliness, exemplary attitude of the staff, friendly, helpful welcome. The breakfast is also beyond expectations. Absolutely recommended!
We had a rainy week, so a more serious drying option in the room would have been useful. However, the ski boot dryer in the basement helped a lot.

Verified reviewThe main staff member was so incredibly friendly! It was very kind of her to pack us a lunch when we were leaving too early for breakfast. She also gave us helpful recommendations of things to do. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely.
The pillows in the rooms weren't the most comfortable. There is no door on the shower room so keep that in mind if doing a group trip and sharing the room, it's not very private. Also there is not much to eat around Sillian, only 2 restaurants so plan accordingly if coming back from a big day and looking for a feed.

Verified reviewThe hospitality of the host is outstanding. Ingrid was very helpful and supportive with every concern we had. The location is great. The views are breathtaking and the village is so safe and quiet. Sillian is really close to some north Italy attractions If I’m ever going back to visit Sillian, definitely this is going to be my stay.
It would be better if there were electric kettle, extra trash can (there was only one in the bathroom) and tissue.

Verified reviewThe size of the room is gray for a couples trip with a big bed and balcony. The room and the hotel was pristine and the hotel staff was very friendly.
The rooms are only clean once every other day. Furthermore, the breakfast is quite simple with limited variety. Taken into account that the average price per night is 158€ it isn’t a good value for money option, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay at this hotel during our winter vacation! The location is absolutely perfect, with easy access to some of Italy's best ski resorts, including Kronplatz, Cortina d'Ampezzo, and Drei Zinnen Dolomites. It made getting to the slopes a breeze, and we loved how close we were to everything. The breakfast was a so great each morning – a fantastic spread of fresh pastries, delicious options, and a variety of local specialties that gave us the energy to hit the slopes. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy, well-located spot for their ski trip!

Verified reviewBeautiful ambience and atmosphere. Friendly hosts who were attentive and we jointly shared our travel stories - made us very comfortable. Lovely, clean and spacious room. They also provided hot delicious tea outside the rooms which was a nice touch in sub zero temperatures, particularly when returning from a day of skiing! The breakfast cakes were my favourite!
The only hitch was getting access to the sauna - it was always full when we went, with long queues. We ended up not using it at all for the duration of our stay. Perhaps pre-booking or a roster / schedule would be useful to ensure all guests are able to access the facilities. I booked here specifically as there was a sauna.

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpfull owner, alwayes there with all the important information and knowledge about the region. Very clean and modern hotel with apartaments. Welness Sauna zone included in price, great after whole day of skiing. Breakfest are very tastfull, and there is a large choice of diffrent meats, cheeses, vegtables and so on, tee, coffee, all you need. There is a skibus stopping directly at the house, so it takes only 5 minutes to get to the Lifts. Parking lot in front of the house, plenty of places. There is allso a ski room with shoes warmers. Everything was perfect, hopefully we will go there next year again. 11/10 if it was possible!

Verified reviewThe hosts and personnel are super great. Generally I liked the hotel itself, it's modern, cosy, clean. Overall experience was really good. It is located in quiet area., but in the walking distance from groceries and small city center.
There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and duvets are really like for cold winters, so it was hot during the night, despite keeping windows open. I would have wished to have hair conditioner in the bathroom. Breakfast selection is medium, like everything is so tiny, tiny and served in small portions that you feel guilty to take more than 1 slice of kiwi.
