Weird check in/out counter directly in the store. So if there are a lot of customers you have to wait quite some time. I knew the hotel restaurant is located directly on the highway, so I expected the prices to be a bit higher. But 8€ for a beer it’s just ridiculous…

I would say the only good thing about this place is the location and the view. The rest ist quite outdated..

Strange breakfast system, no buffet.. drinks and eggs had to be ordered from the menu at restaurant. I don't know how it is on the weekend.

Location is very convenient. Room with lake view surprisingly quiet with open balcony door all night! Very clean and spacious. Late arrival with key safe very handy, works very well. Don't forget to check-in at the automatic check-in machine lefthand side at the entrance if you arrive outside of business hours. Food at the restaurant next door of surprisingly good quality and taste. Expensive though but it's directly at the motorway so not a surprise. ;-)

Staff in restaurant speaks very little english. I find over 180eur per night without breakfast for this kind of hotel and service as so so value.

Stunning views. Bit out-dated but still comfortable rooms. Great breakfast if you pay extra.

It is really a motorway hotel, was very expensive and they wanted 17 euro each extra for breakfast. We didn't pay and bought food at the garage cafe instead. Hotel is a bit dated.

The views are amazing of the lake, cliffs and sunset. The shower was great and bed was fairly comfortable.

Good hotel with helpful staff. Nice room with a picturesque view of the lake from the window. Excellent restaurant with a varied menu. This hotel is good for a few days if you are traveling by car.

The reception was not operating and we had to check in via the Giftshop, which was a slight impracticality after a long trip. While the food quality is excellent and it arrives fast, there are many guests and at times not enough staff. This can make the service quality suffer slightly at times as staff are overburdened.

Spacious rooms with view of the Mondsee and surrounding mountains. Despite its location on a motorway rest area, no traffic noise can be heard. An excellent place for a stop on a long road trip. The beds are comfortable. The restaurant has a good choice of meals and the food quality is excellent. A wide selection of breakfast options are available, although be sure to book the breakfast with your room, otherwise you will be charged for everything you take separately. Restaurant staff was friendly.

We spent 4 nights and the room was never cleaned and also no change of towels and removing of the garbage from the toilet. this with a small baby was not very well done!

The Mondsee is one of my favorite stopover places between Switzerland and Hungary. The rooms are spacious, the view is stunning, the restaurant and the food choice is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. I am happy that I can stay at one of the LandZeit hotels on my way back, as well.

Price and mannerism

I love this location but it's getting far too expensive for what it is. The three things that really annoyed me were that there is no air-conditioning, the staff hardly speak English and they come across ignorant and the ridiculous price

The price doesn't match the quality. The hotel is really chaotic - poor signs, unclear parking and staff either don't speak English or don't want to speak at all. Breakfast is also chaotic. The first day we had a menu with pictures, the second day a completely different, very small menu. I'm pretty sure that the extra payment for breakfast isn't worth it. It's just better to go to any café near the lake. The hotel has an old lift and very old carpets. If you don’t arrive from the highway side, you park next to smelly bins. Cleaning is poor. During our 2 nights nobody cleaned the room, the balcony was dirty, and the door to the balcony was veeeery hard to open. The light in the room didn't work, so we used only bedside lamps. The hotel is old and needs investment. That's a pity, because it could be a nice place for people travelling near Mondsee for 1–2 nights. Overall, we were disappointed.

The location is good - close to the lake with amazing views.
