Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe were not all inclusive, as a high percentage of guests are. It seems that all inclusive guests are allocated a table for the duration of their stay, whereas breakfast only guests were given a different table each day in the rather open, busy and slightly underwhelming area near to the restaurant entrance. I appreciate this is to make it easier for staff to seat breakfast only guests, but for guests, it's just a bit miserable and embarrassing. It did impact our stay and our rating for this visit unfortunately.
We rated our stay here highly. As a family, this hotel was almost perfect for us. We let the kids explore the hotel, and move between the buildings using the tunnel under the road. They disappeared for hours one rainy day into the basement of the newer building, to use the soft play and football court. The indoor swimming pool was great on the two out of four days that it was too wet to go out. The staff were super friendly and, as breakfast only guests, accommodated us when we made a last minute decision to have dinner one night. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. There were bags available to take food away. We were not all inclusive, as most guests were, and it was not clear whether we could engage in this (but we did!). The room was clean, tidy and modern (we were in the newer building). The bar was confusing for guests who were not all inclusive - there didn't seem to be any opportunity to pay for drinks! We had driven here and found parking easily, but, centrally located, our 7 and 10 year olds were happy to walk from the hotel to town and back without any fuss. They also walked the 10 minutes up to the Schmittenhohe cable car without complaint. We would return to this hotel as a family.

Family run hotel Different playroom, all big and very fun, for smaller kids, bigger, games room Underground connection between new and old building (with restaurant) Great food Big room (note that in our case 3rd bed for kid was in the main bedroom, double check with the hotel in case you want 3 beds for kids in the seperate bedroom) Mostly stroller friendly (eg under ground connection, lifts inside) Grear view on a hill with sheeps from the restaurant

DenmarkThe food does not match the overall standard of the hotel. All the dishes are very child-friendly and seem more like they’ve been reheated from frozen or poured out of a container. The buffet involved far too much self-service – the serving utensils were lying directly in the food bowls.
The family rooms are new and really great. Lovely view of animals on a green hill behind the hotel.

United KingdomI think each room should have a kettle and water should be available for free at meal times.
Large comfortable rooms, great facilities for children, if made our holiday as a family with friends really easy to all be together and the kids have spaces to play. Enjoyed the all inclusive menus. Handy for getting the ski bus.

DenmarkFood was not great. A shame that you have to be naked in the spa. Feels a little unsafe that you can walk in from the street to the playing areas with no key.
Large, clean, really nice room. Great spa, pool area and fitness. Great playrooms for the kids.

We had a budget room. It was OK, but the hotel was quite old and needs to be repaired I think in that area. Mabye I should have put a little more money to in to the room, pictures looked better. It would be nice if the couples could have own time to the swimming area. The nude area is not so tempting. Breakfast was good, I didnt understand why the table had to be booked. There was another family in our table in the second day. Staff was kind and helpfull. Thank you!

United StatesThe only drawbacks to this facility are that it's a bit far from Zell am See for young children to walk. For older children and adults, it's totally fine - about 1 kilometer. So we drove and parked at the Hallenbad to get to Zell am See. We would've given this hotel 5 stars if there was more for kids to do there. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there. We would've love to have had a room where the kids could play board games, or maybe an indoor playground, or a covered playground outside. There is a playground outside, but it's not covered.
Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel! We are a family of 5 and we stayed in the new part of the hotel. We had a room with 3 twin beds for the kids, a pull out sofa bed and a double bed. We had plenty of space and the room and bathrooms were very modern and updated and clean. We faced the back of the hotel which is the hillside where donkeys, sheep, goats and chickens graze! It was so charming and relaxing to watch the animals on the hill. It's a very quiet location. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the family spa. The food was also delicious! Our kids loved the buffet and so did we. One aspect that really made our stay special is that the owners have their dog in the hotel! My kids LOVED petting and playing with the dog. It just made it feel like a family-run hotel.
