Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing to mention.
The city center and the train station was just 10 minutes walk, and there is a nice restaurant next to the property where you can have breakfast, and a grocery shop too.

United KingdomThe rooms were 99% clean. Just some dust up high and some small spots missed on the bathroom floor.
Easy check-in. Central location. Great kebab shop a few doors down. Tea and coffee in the rooms. A fan is provided in the summertime. Bedding was comfortable.

AustraliaWe had a 3 singles room. There was very little space between or at the end of the beds. Not for a long stay! However we were there for one night, as one of our party was ill and couldn't travel any more. So we made it work.
This was a last minute, evening booking for our party of 3. The staff were helpful and accomodating on phone. Morning staff were delightfully helpful, polite and pleasant. Room was clean, and extras like tea coffee and biscuits provided. Nothing broken, nothing out of place. Everything in good condition.

GreeceNo AC, but fans. A basic design that looks more like a dorm from the past. But it was generally not easy to find appropriate not pricy accommodation in Linz, so, it's ok for the price. Some renovation, of course, would make the hotel much nicer.
It's ok to stay for 1-2 nights, close to the railway station and the center on foot

HungaryThe shower cabin's door was bent and did not fully cloe at the bottom, so showering without flooding the bathroom was tricky. This would require repair. I'm normally not picky with pillows or mattresses, but here even I found both of these a bit too hard and uncomfortable. I tried sleeping without the pillow, but it only made things worse... There were only 3 coathangers in the whole room, 1 per wardrobe - I believe this isn't enough if someone stays for a few more days. While the hotel is close to the inner city, getting to the absolute centre requires some walking (the main square / Hauptplatz is over 15 mins away by foot).
We only stayed a single night, but I believe this room is well-equipped even for a longer stay (e.g. there is a small refrigerator and an electric kettle. There are 2 microwave ovens in the foyer, close to the room). Check-in (and check-out) was easy, the room was clean, there were enough towels, and even single-use slippers were provided. Our room was facing an inner courtyard, so the noise from the street didn't get in - if someone is bothere by the noise, I suggest asking for a room with windows to the courtyard. There are lockers at the reception, where guests can leave their belongings after check-out if they have some time before their train/bus/plane departs. They are available free of charge. One of them even has sockets for charging electronic devices (it is marked).

United KingdomI thought it was strange not to have a curtain over the front door, even though we had curtains around our beds not having a curtain over the door made us feel uncomfortable but it wasn’t busy and we felt safe. The shower was cold.
We had a quadruple room but we didn’t have to share with anyone . Beds were exceptionally comfortable and the room is very quiet so we had a good rest. There is a kettle , coffee and tea and a nice clean bathroom, however the shower was very cold.

SlovakiaA bit weird surroundings of the hotel and the hotel itself has kind of a "workers' dormitory" impression. The bathroom was pretty small. The room is not very soundproof - I kept on waking up the whole night since I heard all the sounds and noises from the hall/staircase of other people coming in and out.
Location is quite good - not a central one, but not too far from the train station or the city centre. There's some nice storage space in the room and a nice big bed.

ThailandThere is no elevator inside the building. I have to carry my suitcase to the 2nd floor. Early in the morning, it could be noisy because of the traffic and driven vehicles.
The hotel is located right in the city center. It's super-clean. The bed is very comfortable. It's just a walking distance to go to the restaurant or supermarket to get food. Or go to the main Linz railway station. Only takes 15 minutes walk. The physical keys were provided to enter the room and the building in the evening.
