How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location (right next to the top of the Hahnenkamm gondola) with stunning views - the terrace is fabulous. Ideal for family or couple, winter ski (you’ll be first on the slopes) or summer hiking or cycling (all the walking and cycling routes start from there). Great dinner and breakfast - high quality hut fare. Very comfortable and clean - service is super friendly. Great value for money.

Verified reviewGreat staff, Dirk and Michelle really made it fun and are super helpful. Best location for ski racing fans in town to watch the downhill training and really special to think we were basically sleeping at the start! Great vibe felt like a backcountry ski lodge but with a restaurant and gondola access :) 99 years of rustic charm. One of most special places we stayed over our 3 week trip following the world cup.
Thank you

Verified reviewThis was such a unique spot with so much history, as you can imagine from a 99 year old lodge on top of a legendary ski hill! We expected it would be like a rustic backcountry hut (but very easily accessible thanks to the gondola) and it was, but so much more: super nice staff, decent food, an opportunity to hang out and meet other guests in the restaurant/pub, and be about 100 m away from the start of the Hannenkahm downhill which, being our primary reason for visiting Kitzbuhel (to cheer on the Canadians!), was absolutely incredible. To watch training runs from literally outside the lodge was one of the highlights of our time in Europe following a few World Cup races. We were a group of 8 (4 couples) and we shared 2 quad rooms for 2 nights and staying here was a really fun part of our 3 week trip. If you are looking for the Ritz, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a memorable adventure, stay here! Loved it! Thanks to Michelle and Dirk for the great hospitality.

Verified reviewFood was very good
When the restaurant was full, they seemed quite overwhelmed and it was difficult for them to provide fast service. More restaurant staff would have been helpful.

Verified reviewI have never stayed in a mountaintop cabin before and Michelle and Peter were incredible hosts! It was the night before they were fully booked out so I got the entire upstairs dorm area to myself. At dinner, Michelle gave me free schnapps and in the morning Peter gave me a ride to the lift on the snowmobile. Oh, they also had 2 adorable Labrador Retrievers around.
My only problem was that access to this hut is attached to the main Hahnenkammbahn lift. If you don't get to the lift before 4 pm, you can't get up.

Verified reviewHad the best stay here over New Year’s Eve for 3 nights. The location is excellent, has the best panoramic views. The gondola up doesn’t start until 8:30 so you can easily get first tracks in mornings. Good breakfast Buffet. A few options for dinner, I loved the goulash soup and my son loved the Schnitzel. The staff was absolutely incredible. So friendly. Like they knew you for years. Michelle the host was awesome. Dirk was also amazing. They were always so helpful. He brought our luggage in a ski doo up to top of gondola when we left. I would spend every New Year’s Eve here if I could. They did a 5 course dinner which was awesome. There was a lovely bonfire. Dancing. And views of the most incredible fireworks. 10/10.
A railing on the top bunk for my kid would have been good. He’s a roller in the night. The wifi didn’t really work when we were there. But they had lots of cards and board games for the evenings.

Verified reviewYou can’t beat the views. It super fun for a smaller group but don’t be fooled by the pictures of “crazy nightlife”, everyone does hang out together downstairs but no one is dancing on tables. It’s still an amazing experience just if you are looking for a club-hostel vibe, look in town. I recommend booking in advance and taking a private room. It’s worth it. Hosts are super welcoming and amazing.

Verified reviewBeautiful location and kind staff! The location is just incredible and very easy to reach if you take the Hahnenkammbahn up, and then either a short 5/10min walk down (over snow in winter) or short ride with ski/snowboard. It is also next to a slope so from the hut you can ski directly to a lift which is amazing, especially early in the morning during the sunrise, just beautiful! I think it can be a very fun place to socialize, however when I was there during Christmas it was super quiet, which i very enjoyed also. The staff made sure I had vegan food which I really appreciated. And the two dogs are just the cutest!

Verified reviewAn amazing location on the Hahnenkamm close to the top of cable cars. With only 4 other guests it was very quiet. In the middle of June. We took a short walk in the evening with the mountain to ourselves, other than the cows. Spectacular views and very serene. Our host Michelle was wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were very nice. The start house for the downhill course was 200 meters away, which was very cool. Those Crazy Canucks from the 80's were crazy!
Thank you so much

Verified reviewPerfect hut in the mountains if you want to hike. We stayed here during a multiday hike and were not dissapointed. Very friendly host. We received a free delicious schnaps on arrival. Very dog friendly as well. Very authentic mountain hut, reachable by foot or by cable car.
Nothing really. The hut is basic, but authentic.
Thank you ! Great Dog 😍
