Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyGreat location (right next to the top of the Hahnenkamm gondola) with stunning views - the terrace is fabulous. Ideal for family or couple, winter ski (you’ll be first on the slopes) or summer hiking or cycling (all the walking and cycling routes start from there). Great dinner and breakfast - high quality hut fare. Very comfortable and clean - service is super friendly. Great value for money.

CanadaGreat staff, Dirk and Michelle really made it fun and are super helpful. Best location for ski racing fans in town to watch the downhill training and really special to think we were basically sleeping at the start! Great vibe felt like a backcountry ski lodge but with a restaurant and gondola access :) 99 years of rustic charm. One of most special places we stayed over our 3 week trip following the world cup.

CanadaThis was such a unique spot with so much history, as you can imagine from a 99 year old lodge on top of a legendary ski hill! We expected it would be like a rustic backcountry hut (but very easily accessible thanks to the gondola) and it was, but so much more: super nice staff, decent food, an opportunity to hang out and meet other guests in the restaurant/pub, and be about 100 m away from the start of the Hannenkahm downhill which, being our primary reason for visiting Kitzbuhel (to cheer on the Canadians!), was absolutely incredible. To watch training runs from literally outside the lodge was one of the highlights of our time in Europe following a few World Cup races. We were a group of 8 (4 couples) and we shared 2 quad rooms for 2 nights and staying here was a really fun part of our 3 week trip. If you are looking for the Ritz, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a memorable adventure, stay here! Loved it! Thanks to Michelle and Dirk for the great hospitality.

NetherlandsBeautiful location and kind staff! The location is just incredible and very easy to reach if you take the Hahnenkammbahn up, and then either a short 5/10min walk down (over snow in winter) or short ride with ski/snowboard. It is also next to a slope so from the hut you can ski directly to a lift which is amazing, especially early in the morning during the sunrise, just beautiful! I think it can be a very fun place to socialize, however when I was there during Christmas it was super quiet, which i very enjoyed also. The staff made sure I had vegan food which I really appreciated. And the two dogs are just the cutest!

United StatesThis hostel is atop the Hahnenkamm gondola which MOST nights of week stops uploading people at 1630 so plan your day accordingly. If you want to see the town of Kitzbühel. After 1630 you’re committed to staying at the hostel. Also, to get to the hostel it requires the purchase of a lift ticket, no free rides for anyone at any of the accommodations atop the gondola.
The meals at this location are great. Breakfast is pretty standard European continental style breakfast. Dinner is a three course meal of local dishes. Everyone staying in the hostel that wants to eat all meat in the dining area allowing for great opportunities to meat other travelers. The vibe differs each night pending on how many people are there and the energy they bring. Music plays, volume goes up as people get into it. Food service takes about 2 hours from start to finish on the busiest of nights, much quicker with less guests staying. The staff will keep the music playing and drinks served as long as people want to keep going.

United StatesThe pre trip communication from the staff was horrendous. I reached out several times with questions, and either got no reply or a half answer. I felt that the staff was not forthcoming with helpfulness, and everything had to be teased out of them. Many people are arriving with roller luggage, and it is a tough walk with wheeled luggage down the ski slope. They have a snowmobile they can use to help move luggage but only if you know to ask. The matrazenlager is quite basic and has a mix of bunkbeds and floor mattresses. The mattresses on the floor are seperated by about 5cm of spcae and are extremely close to one another. Be aware you may have some strangers a little closer than expected if staying in this room.
The location is incredible, you can't get find a true ski in ski out like this for a comparable price. Dinners were also excellent, and the general atmosphere was quite warm and inviting. The views from the dining room are top notch. The staff was friendly, and the two dogs on the property were loved by all. Breakfast was basic but not lacking, and was a serve yourself buffet of typical Austrian breakfast spread, no complaints here!

RussiaBathroom and shower could be cleaner and the drinks that come with the dinner are overpriced compared to other restaurants on the mountain. Also ski boots drying rack wasn't warmed up so the boots stayed wet if left there overnight.
very cozy and sweet place, run by a very nice family and feels like home! great dinners included, breakfast is a usual buffet. I loved being on top of the mountain and getting to see sunrise and sunset from it as well as skiing immediately to and out of the door! and as a dog lover i appreciated that the owner has two sweetest labradors :)

South AfricaAs long as you know that it's nothing luxury all is good. Food is simple, rooms are rustic. All good if you expect it to be so. Access to tea and coffee in the afternoon would have been nice.
On the mountain. Fantastic setting. Rustic and authentic mountain guesthouse. Ski to the door. Great dining area with local decor and atmosphere. Basic breakfast and dinner included.

Great little ski-hut on an easy accessible location. It is rustic but has all the feel of a proper ski-hut for the ski-bums and a likes. Good vibes and welcoming staff makes it a perfect stay if you want a genuine feel of skiing in the 60-70s. Bunk beds and shared toilets and bathrooms add to the feeling and they are all clean and nice.

United StatesEverything was as I expected it for this type of hut, so none of this is meant to be critical, that being said, just make note of a few things: Not much is provided other than a pillows and blanket and you will be sleeping in an open space with other people on a basic cot. Towels are not included and its not exactly easy to find a store that sells them in Kitzbuhel. Getting to town is easy via the Hahnenkammbahn if you need supplies, but during the week you will be stuck on the mountain after 5pm, make sure to keep an eye on the time and check the schedule (runs later on weekends)!
The location is unbeatable, especially during the Hahnenkamm race, it is absolutely the best place you could be. The food was excellent, dinner includes a soup/salad, main course (changes daily) and dessert. Breakfast is continental, but has everything you need before a day of skiing. The staff and dogs are amazing and you never know who you might meet on top of the Hahnenkamm! Overall, incredible views, relaxed vibes, and nightly music and fun easily makes this the most interesting stay in Kitzbuhel.

GermanyI liked everything. In general this is the perfect place for solo travelers or groups who like to drink a beer and to be among other young people. Don't recommend for families with kids or for people who expect a fancy five star luxury treatment in Kitzbühel.
Breakfast was perfect for skierst who ski on their own and need a refuel just before going on the slope. If you're not expecting a five star á là carte breakfast, this is perfect for you.

The view from the place is one of the best that you can get in that area. But you can’t go back to the city in the evening. This stay is only for serious skiers.
