How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewSuch a fantastic place to stay to enjoy Saalbach. Right in the middle of town but very quiet and relaxing. We were on a mountain biking holiday and the location and facilities suited it very well. The garden was lovely with a great view and a lot of space to relax. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, we had a fun time enjoying the Spitzbub bar attached to the property. The lifts for walking and biking were very close, nearest one 100m or so. Saalbach was quite quiet mid week but there was some lively bars on Thursday to Saturday.
The church bells! Not a fault of the property at all, but I am not sure why they need to Dong every 15 mins, it must really annoy people who live there. You are supposed to keep quiet to not annoy people, but it seems churches are exempt from this for some reason.

Verified reviewIn June, a group of 5 friends and we spent a wonderful stay at Haus Willibald. We stayed in a spacious apartment on the first floor with three separate double rooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable, which was perfect for getting a good rest after our active days on the slopes. One of the great advantages was our own large balcony with an amazing mountain view, which we could access directly from the apartment — the perfect place for morning coffee or evening drinks. Although the kitchen was small, it was fully equipped with a double cooker, fridge and dishwasher, so it was easy to prepare breakfasts and dinners. We also appreciated the lockable bike room where we could secure our bikes with our own lock, a perfect solution for cyclists. The owner, Daniela, was absolutely wonderful. She communicated well, was very kind and helpful. She also arranged a Joker Card for us, which gave us discounted cable car rides and free access to other attractions in the area. Overall, we found the stay very pleasant. The cleanliness, facilities and location were all excellent, as was the owner's attitude. We would definitely recommend Haus Willibald and would love to come back again!
The only thing missing from the apartment was an extractor hood above the double hob in the kitchen. An air conditioner would also be great for hot summers. But those are minor details.

Verified reviewgood location for biking trips, close to the main lift. the beds were good! and the joker card was a really nice gift to get some discount on all sorts of things arround saalbach. the host was also super friendly and good howto guide on getting inside the app.
there no filter above the cooking plate what caused to room to smell alot after a small cooking session. I can assume that this can nog be good for the cabins above it. there also a load unload space were you ment to unload en then move your car to the garage, here were the spaces always used by guest also staying there, witch made my unload experience not that easy.

Verified reviewClose to the Kohlmaisbahn and close to the center of Saalbach. Appartment was clean, modern, new,, bedrooms were nice, enough space. We liked having two bathrooms. Good beds, good matracess and pillows, good sleep. Nice view from balcony. TV in every room. Overall very nice. It was as on the photos.
Kitchen was a little bit darker as there was only one small window. There was only a small fridge but we did fit into it in the end :-)

Verified reviewIncredible location, so close to the lift. Welcoming bar attached to the building, and yet we couldn't hear a thing from our room from the bar. Friendly and amazingly helpful host. Very comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. The terrace and garden were lovely, and the swing and trampoline for the kids was the icing on the cake. Would love to come back summer or winter!

Verified reviewThe location was perfect. Close to the ski area and après-ski area but not too noisy. The staff was amazing! Very friendly and always happy to help. It is great that they have a breadservice as well!
The accomodation of 7 persons is a bit small for 7 adults. They have more accomodations for large groups. So if you're a group with only adults make sure you book one of the bigger appartements they have.
