My son and I really enjoyed our stay at here. Check in was easy, great location to the town and the train, beautiful room and view. The hosts were friendly and helpful and provided a delicious breakfast. Loved the skylight in the room as well. Would definitely come back and highly recommend.

It was the perfect way to start each day. And the surroundings? Simply breathtaking. The area is full of natural beauty, peaceful and serene – ideal for anyone looking to relax or explore the outdoors. We left with full hearts and beautiful memories. We had a wonderful two-night stay at Haus Salzkristall hosted by Thomas and Franziska. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect—our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. Thomas and Franziska were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast each morning was a highlight, with a variety of fresh and delicious options that gave us the perfect start to our day. We truly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend their hospitality to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The hosts are incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. They just seem like extremely nice, genuine people. The room was clean, spacious with a balcony that provided an incredible view. It's very close to Obertraun train station and the lake. Might be the type of place that's better if you have a car but we got around just fine renting out bikes to get to Hallstatt, other parts of the lake and the surrounding area.

No air-conditioning meant the room got pretty warm (this was at the end of June). Obertraun itself, you're limited in terms of restaurants and bars.

Tom and Franziska were wonderful, suggesting restaurants and excursions. They also did everything that they could to help me find the Airpod that I somehow managed to lose in the bed. They promised to mail it to me if they found it. They also helped us dry our laundry on the balcony.

Beautiful and helpful hosts, nutritious breakfast, amazing location — close to the train station and the beach. 1 hour walk from Hallstatt and the cable car. Interior is cosy, full of details. Unforgettable experience. Hope to come back.

We stayed at Haus Salzkristall for two nights on our extensive European road trip. I highly recommend it without hesitation and would love stay again if we return to the area. The house and garden, in a peaceful setting are beautiful and so relaxing, the room was perfect and breakfast excellent. Thomas & Franziska were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. A definite 5 stars from me.

A short easy walk from the station to the unit. Comfortable stay, rooms are clean. Amazing view from the balcony unit. The lovely couple is attentive to details. The homemade breakfast is fantastic. Highly recommended.

We were warmly welcomed by Thomas and Fransiska. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast with freshly baked apple strudel and muffins was a delight. Fantastic view of the lake from our balcony.

The hosts were so hospitable and warm, and made our stay so special. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was lovely and one of the hosts even baked us chocolate chip cookies, which we were lucky enough to take on the road! Location is also lovely - just steps away from the lake and close proximity to other popular areas such as Hallstat but with a local and peaceful feel that felt like a home away from home.

Loved everything about this place, the room was spotless, the view was amazing, the photos on here don’t do it justice, the bed was super comfortable and the hosts were amazing! Such lovely people and really helpful, lovely selection at breakfast. The snack station was a really thoughtful addition as the local supermarkets aren’t open very late. Would definitely stay again!

The guesthouse is clean, tidy, and quiet. The hosts are a very kind couple who really care about the quality of our stay. The breakfast is delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

The hosts, Thomas and Franziska were very friendly, very helpful in suggesting restaurants, local sites to see, etc. The hotel was very clean, water pressure excellent, HOT shower, breakfast was very good and we enjoyed staying at their facility. Outside the room was an honor system for beverages (BEER!!!), tea, snacks, etc. My wife is very particular about hotels, particularly cleanliness and she was very, very pleased. You know the saying “Happy Wife, Happy Life”. We would strongly recommend Haus Salzkristall if you visit Hallstatt, Austria, they are across the lake in Obertraun, a short drive or you can take a boat there and back.

No complaints of any kind. Was very happy with our choice to stay at Haus Salzkristall and our time spent both in Obertraun by the lake and site seeing in Hallstatt.
