Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaAlthough it was a bit disappointing that there was no breakfast buffet, there were nice bakeries nearby, and I also enjoyed picking up salads and sandwiches from Billa and Spar, which are local supermarkets — it even became a fun part of the stay
The location was very convenient, being close to the central station. I especially enjoyed the morning walks in the Belvedere Palace gardens, which were just a short distance away. The elegant interior design of the accommodation also left a great impression.

PortugalThe apartment has two bedrooms and there can be another person in the other bedroom. Wasn't an issue for me, but might be for others.
Super luxurious room (as seen in the pictures), there is a modern shower and a bidet toilet. A room heater and small mobile AC, as well as a fan are available.

EcuadorEverything was great.
Honestly, I loved staying a the Luxury near Castle pension in Vienna. I used this hotel to bookend my trip to Austria, so stayed there both at the beginning and at the end. It's very close to the main train station (great for food on Sunday's) and that makes sightseeing easy as trains, buses and trams all leave from there. I took the train from the airport to the central station on arrival and took the bus back to the airport for departure as that was the best early morning option and really just as fast. The pension room was decorated from an earlier period and gave a homey vib. The bathroom is ultra modern so worked great. The owners are two somewhat elderly folks who were fabulous hosts. I did not see them much so take that into consideration if you want more direction that a hotel and 24 hour lobby would provide. I have traveled the world extensively so need very little assistance. The pension does not offer breakfast but there is a pastry store just around the corner that opens at 7am. Good coffee and pastries. There is also a more full service cafe just down the street. And there is a good sized, BILLA grocery store just down the street also. In the neighborhood you will also find Austrian cuisine and pizza places for food. The Belvedere is just up the street from the pension (5 minute walk) and has some great art on display including the original of “The Kiss” by Klimt, images which can be seen all over tourist Austria. There is an automatic coffee machine in the pension which take a 1 euro coin. The common kitchen has everything you would want except for a stove. Honestly, it was like staying in a palace room from a historical period. I would definitely stay there again when I am back in Vienna.

NorwayVery minor points: (1) no ice and no freezer compartment in the fridge; (2) bidet was not functioning properly…
Very centrally located, easy to find, especially after the host’s clear instructions. I liked the fact that despite the accommodation being marketed as an ‘airB&B’ style, the guest is not expected to clean the apartment. It was comfortable and homey. Recommended!

EstoniaThere are some basic amenities for making a cup of tea, but the kitchen is not suited for heavy-duty cooking. This was fine for me as there was a lovely breakfast cafe just around the corner. Also, you can pick up your dinner from the main railway station that has a lots of places open both early and late.
This is not an apartment, it's a museum! The owner is a lovely elderly gentleman who gives you a tour around. The bedroom faces inner courtyard, so it is very quiet. Which I liked -- I am a light sleeper. It is also very well located, 7 minutes of walking from the main railway station.

United KingdomThere is no way.of making your own coffee, make sure you have euro coins if you want to use the coffee (nescafe) machine
I loved my stay here. Central, large rooms, watm, welcoming space. spotlessly clean and very comfortable.Slightly eccentric mix of kitsch and antiques, like stepping into a film set, I stayed in the room with the bathroom away from the bedroom but private and not a problem for me. The (sofa) bed was very comfortable

United StatesDid not realize at the time of booking that the about 2500 square foot apartment is divided into three separate rentals. We got lucky because there was nobody else staying during our stay
The unit is in a great location close to transportation, stores, restaurants, some of the museums. The home is remarkably well furnished with historic pieces (all 250 years old per the owner who is a history professor) Almost like sleeping in a bedroom at Schönbrunn

Hong KongCharming couple run the property, my only suggestion would be to knock when entering the room as I found it very odd to be surprised by the owner entering without any notice.
Unique property that brings a nice change from the usual hotel rooms, with its rich furnishings, paintings and books. Note that you are renting one room of three in the apartment, with the dining room and small kitchenette shared by all those staying. There are also approx 50 steps up to the floor, should that be a concern for you with luggage. Whilst it’s a little way out of the main tourist area, it’s very simple to get a tram or subway train, or approx 30 mins walk. It’s also close to the Belvedere Palace and Military Museum. The proximity to the main railway station was a real bonus if that’s how you are coming/going. Charming couple run the property, my only suggestion would be to knock when entering the room as I found it very odd to be surprised by the owner entering without any notice.

LuxembourgI had a problem that hand shower did not work in the bathroom, and I couldn't figure out how to use it. The room was too hot for me, even if owners provided AC unit, the weather outside was close to 30 during the day and i didn't know how to open windows.
Room was very impressively decorated, it gave a feeling as if you sleep in the museum. The location is just next to Belvedere castle, which was very nice quarter of many embassies around. The WIFI is very safe and smooth and it works impeccably. The parking can be agreed with owners around the corner for 10 eur, which I find very good price for Vienna.
