We were allocated a room on the second floor of Dormio Gasthof, which apparently was booked through Booking.com. We had no idea. No lift. I’m 70 my wife 61 with medical issues. It was too problematic to haul our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Plus the accommodation was located the other end of Obertraun a long way from the resort. On telling the staff of our issues we were relocated to a ground floor studio on site at no extra charge. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

the building photos of the house is actually their reception and dining hall. the actual place is 3 minutes away by car. we were lucky we had a car and drove, else, it would have been quite a walk to the place with all the luggage.

The gasthof was cosy, had a nice view of the mountains. The room is larger than most gasthof we stayed in. The reception was kind and very helpful. They even gave us free breakfast, which we deeply appreciate. Their breakfast spread was da bomb, the croissants is a must try! The bathroom was clean, bed was comfy. The reception is just next to the boat station, so it was convenient for us to take the first boat to Hallstatt old town.

The site is 700 meter away from train station. And the recieptionist table is different buliding which is 300 meter away from train station. It is 180 degree apart each other.

It was not nice difference between accommodation and reception.

Check-in and room are in two completely different places, about a 10-minute by walk. The room is a suite with a washroom and bathroom. It is large and very clean. Breakfast is perfect, everything is fresh. Hotel is situated in a silent, peaceful place. The workers in reception are very kind and helpful.

The issue I had was that I thought I had booked the resort not the hostel at the other end of town. It also said I had a balcony overlooking the mountains. Instead I had no balcony and overlooked the police station. Wifi didn’t work this was an a knowledged problem. 16min walk to and from the resort.

They didn't change our dates even as i saw there was a loot of free rooms. Even this they said: because of terms and conditions, that i snot possible.

I was able to do check-in in out of hours time. Reception was very kind and help us with all staff asked.

I cant tell. When we arrived, we noticed small paper with message that we sould go to some hotel near Hallstadt so we can check-in. There they told us that the room we reserved is not prepared and they offered us much better room in their position. It was clearly much more expensive and better equiped for the same price...

Not enough kitchen cutlery, cups, pots…. We also did not like that into the bedroom you have to walk through bathroom. The space around bed in the bedroom was extremely small which made the access into the bed very uncomfortable.

Rather modern and spacious but could be more practical. Tha locality is ok.

The check-in was strange because you had to do it in a different location, on top of that our room was not ready so we had to wait for around an hour (we arrived much later than check-in time). Also in the morning, the building was closed from the outside, so we had to call reception (at that other address)

The location is very nice, local supermarket is 1 min away. We got an apartment that was bigger than we expected. It was warm and cozy.

Check-in and guest rooms are in two completely different places, about a 15-minute walk. The hotel did not inform us of the specific location for check-in in advance, which caused us a lot of trouble. Thanks to a local Austrian couple who helped us, otherwise the consequences would have been terrible.

The room is a suite with a washroom and bathroom. It is large and very clean. The hotel is equipped with various kitchen utensils for cooking. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. It's about a 10-minute walk from the train station and a 20-minute walk from the lake. The scenery along the way is also very beautiful. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Hallstatt by bus, which is very convenient.

The property itself 2 km away from the reception. The room really needs to be refreshed. The floor is very squeaky, the drain in the shower is blocked and no one showed up to fix it (we asked). We got one tiny bottle of shampoo and body wash for THREE PERSONS for FOUR DAYS stay and they refused to renew it when we asked.

We were in the off site property which we knew beforehand wasn’t going to be as nice as the main facility and it was a short walk to the main site too. This didn’t bother us, was easy to get from one to the other. Our issue was cleanliness. I found toenail clippings on our shower shelf on the first day. To me this indicated it either hadn’t been cleaned at all or hadn’t been cleaned well, either way disappointing. Despite staying in the cheaper accommodation I still expected it to be clean. It was also extremely hot in there and the beds weren’t comfy. We didn’t really sleep for those 2 nights. Stay at the main site if you can.

The main building has great facilities, right next to the beautiful lake, not too far from Hallstatt so easy to cycle to. Can hire kayaks and paddle boards by the lake too so very convenient. Beautiful setting and great that those in the offsite property can use all facilities at the main property.

Different location for the check in while the room is located on a completely different area. On top of that there was personnel during the check in. They had to be there since we arrived between the working hours of the reception. We wanted to tell them if there was a room in the Dormio Resort istead of the Gasthof Höllwirt that we stayed but there was no person to ask. The place were the Gasthof Höllwirt is located was kind of spooky. The building seemed like it was abandonded. Huge mistake, the fact that they don't have black out curtains.

Big and spaceous room with lots of areas to store your luggage. The same stands for the bathroom as well. It was the cheapest at the time I did the reservation, however, it turned out that the Dormio Resort was cheaper than the Gasthof Höllwirt. That's a pitty because the Dormio Resort seemed nicer.

Instructions for room check-in were not sent in advance. We had to walk back 20mins for check-in. Unfortunately did koy read the reviews earlier about a similar experience. There was no communication and this was a big negative for us. The room was not very clean. There were cobwebs and dirt and other stuff from previous guests.

The location is just amazing. The staff was generally friendly and even took care of our special requests for the rooms. Rooms are very spacious and have a cozy atmosphere. Bug enough for a couple. The bathroom was big with modern amenities. The bed was nicely done. It was amazing to see snow capped peaks right outside the window. That was a big highlight for us.

Check in was in a different location, in Obertraun Resort and we weren’t informed about that so by luck a lady cleaning the dormitory informed me about it. unless I missed it. In general it could have been a bit cleaner and the second room didn’t have a very nice bathroom.

Obertraun is really beautiful and Hallstatt is also nearby. Easy to find the Appartements. Nice view of the mountains. spacious room and nice bathroom at least for one the rooms.

we had to DRIVE to the resort for breakfast and were not informed about that in advance. The restaurant will also be closed for dinner for two weeks but there is no info about it on booking🙁

You could see that it has a few years and it needs a refresh. Some furniture needs to be changed

However, the check-in process was a bit of a mess. We didn’t receive any check in instructions so naturally we went at the property to find someone. There was nobody there and the phone we were given was ringing in the closed restaurant. After waiting 20 min we went to eat and 3 hours later we got a message that we need to pick up the keys at a location 15 min away from the property. We also needed to leave the keys at the other Dormio location for the check-out process.

The apartment was clean and comfortable, quiet and the location and view were great.
