How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The kitchen was a bit small.
Location is perfect. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The appartment is really big!

Fantastic, spacious apartment in a brilliant location to access the city in a beautiful part of Vienna. Gerta, the host, was amazingly helpful and I wished we had stayed much longer - just perfect!

The apartment was very well put together, had everything you need. It was also huge! So much space. They had a lift which is useful if you can’t walk up many stairs. It was nice to be greated by Mrs. Gasser. She explained some information about Vienna and gave tips. They even have a phone you can make local calls with. Overall, I high recommend it. It was also very central to the train to go to many places in Vienna.

The apartment was quite warm in the hot weather, despite the fans provided in every room .

We absolutely loved our stay. Everything was perfect, from location, spacious and clean apartment, high ceiling which look very old style aristocratic, modern furniture, great host who was helpful and responsive. He booked us a transportation back to airport. The apartment is fully equipped with anything you might need. You can easily walk to any point of interest from this place. Rooms are quiet and beds are very comfortable. We would love to stay here again.

Very spacious, immaculate condition, exceptionally clean bathrooms, the amount of bathrooms! Well equipt kitchen, very quiet - no noise from outside or other apartments. Warm,bright and with comfortable beds. The host was was lovely. Once you let them know your arrival time they meet you at the apartment for payment and handover. The satnav does take you just up the road however after a quick phone call we soon discovered where we needed to be. The location is ideal for exploring the city centre!

It is a lovely spacious apartment in a walking distance to a lot of great places. It was comfortable for 7 people to stay there without disturbing each other:) The huge living room is awesome and two supermarkets around the corner. Would have wanted to stay there a bit longer:)

For me, the curtains were a problem. The curtains were only light drapes and did not keep light out. I think staying here in summer could be a difficult time for me. I would recommend bring eye masks if a light sleeper.
The location was fabulous with restaurants and supermarkets only a few minutes walk away. Public transport also only a few minutes walk away which was great! Apartment was immaculately clean. And a beautiful building! It really set the tone for our visit. We were 7 people - some more delf/cutlery would have been nice. But only a small comment. The owner is so great and full of useful information.

Only one proper shower between 4 of us - hence the "8" score. Could really do with another shower in the second bathroom. Would've been a "10" otherwise.
An excellent apartment in a great location. Very clean and good value for money. Well recommended. A lovely touch was the full explanation on maps of where to go and what to see in Vienna by our host and the bottle of Sturm after we'd asked where we could get some.
