Excellent free-of-charge ski-taxi service to bottom station of Schattberg Xpress or Bernkogel express (only 5 min ride). Good value for money.

The entire staff was equally welcoming and always went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The room was clean, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We had the half board option, which was a great choice. The breakfast each morning was fantastic – a great variety of fresh, delicious options that matched to all tastes. From hot dishes like scrambled eggs and bacon to pastries, fresh fruit, and yogurt, we always left feeling energized and ready for the day. Dinner was equally impressive, with a wide range of thoughtfully prepared dishes. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the portions were generous. After a long day of skiing, there was nothing better than relaxing in the hotel’s well-maintained sauna. It was the perfect way to unwind, recharge, and relax our muscles. The sauna itself was clean and the temperature was just right. One of the highlights was the well-organized ski taxi service. It was so convenient and saved us so much time, allowing us to maximize our time on the mountain. We had an incredible stay at this hotel, and we have to give special mention to Maja, one of the staff members, who truly made our experience unforgettable. She was warm, welcoming, and always eager to help with anything we needed, whether it was giving us great local recommendations or just sharing a friendly chat, Maja made our stay feel personal and special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return next season. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stress-free and enjoyable ski trip!

Free taxi to the slopes. Peaceful location with panoramic views. Healthy and plentiful salad bar, with tasty main meals and desserts. Excellent apartment - well organised and cleaned daily. Friendly staff.

The staff is extremely friendly, they are there to help with anything you might need. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the maids clean them daily and change the towels. The beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept in! Breakfast and dinner are buffets with plenty of choices and they often replenish them. Dinner, in addition to the buffet, is supplemented with a main course and dessert that are served separately, and the hungriest will stay full! The hotel also organizes a ski taxi that takes you to any of the desired gondolas after breakfast (Schattberg X-press, Bernkogelbahn or Kohlmaisbahn) and also returns you to the hotel, fantastic. It is also possible to ski down to the hotel from Bernkogel by turning onto the forest path behind the Westernstadl restaurant. All praise for the entire Altachhof staff!!!

Taxis provided to get to the slopes in the morning just 5 mins away in the car and a private skiway allowed ski back in the evenings or taxis were available for the return too between 2 and 5. Easy to exercise dogs near the property before and after our ski day and just a short walk to saalbach in normal shoes! Very dog friendly which was appreciated. Thank you

United KingdomTemperatures in the room were slightly at extremes (hot one end and ice on the window frame on the other). No kettle in the room. Limited space in the boot room. Early check-in time meant a bit of a rush from the airport.
Breakfast and dinner was good. It was a set menu each evening – slightly limiting for vegetarians, but the salad buffet helped. The staff were very friendly and helpful + they helped accommodate an extra guest with zero fuss. Communication was very straightforward. The rooms were spacious and met our needs for the trip. The included ski taxi was very helpful. Final payment was easy (credit card).

Czech RepublicAll inclusive: - excellent breakfast with many choices - lunch packet (you prepare what you want to take with you from the breakfast) - dinner very good, complete menu for every day (salads and starters, soup, main dish, dessert). Joker card is very helpful - many activities are free, we saved a lot of money. The hotel is on a hill. It means a peaceful place with a big garden and a pool, many activities like minigolf, ping-pong, kid's football, playground etc. Horse riding lessons (paid extra) really try to teach kids something, it is not only leading the horses around. You can save time with "wanderweg" from the hotel directly to the city center of Saalbach. Family hotel, all staff is very friendly.

Lovely hotel, with lovely staff, in an amazing location. Food was all great from Austrian buffet breakfast, to the evening meal, with large salad buffet, soup, generous mains and desert. Room was a great size, with a lovely window and balcony overlooking the mountains. Sauna was lovely (it is traditional Austrian (ie full nude!) for those less used to this!) Service for skiing was great - good ski/boot room to leave gear in, lovely piste down to the hotel, and taxi service to/from the slopes was amazing. Altogether great - would definitely come back again!

The food and drink was great - lots of it and lots of choice which is important when you're spending your days on the slopes! The staff were friendly and happy to help. The hotel was a little out of town, but a walkable distance and there was an efficient and free shuttle running during the hours that the lifts were operational. We felt this hotel offered good value for money.

AustraliaThe description of our room included a living room, but there wasn't one. We were put in the basement apartment next to the sauna. The outdoor seating area included a glass door which looked straight into the sauna, and we saw a number of naked people walking back and forth, which made us uncomfortable. Upon checking out, we were charged an additional 60 Euro cleaning fee which was not included in the price when we booked.

Netherlandswhile the staff is quite friendly there is this one woman who is very annoying, when asked a normal question she reacts very rude and acts like you are stupid. bit of a bummer considering all the good points of this hotel/appartment.
on the phone they are very helpful and willing to think with you, the receptionist is nice and the shuttles to the lifts are easily handled. the room was decent, pillows were a bit lacking but the mattresses were decent and everything worked/was clean. we liked the sauna and the facilities overall were good, especially the delivered bread every morning really made it nice and easy to have breakfast in your appartment.
