Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe elevator only goes up to the 4th floor, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 5th floor. Our 3-person room was on the 4th floor, while the 2-person room was on the 5th.
Located at a quite street, easy transportation to the town center. The facilities are a bit old, but they do have a certain antique charm. Just a reminder - there is no air-conditioner, which may be an issue during very hot days. Not a huge problem for us - we opened the windows and used the electronic fan. The front desk stores luggage after we check-out for free. It is very continent for us, so we could spend the day out and went back to get our luggage.

SpainThe rooms don’t have air conditioning. Still, even though we went in August, it wasn’t too hot because our room didn’t get direct sunlight and it stayed quite cool at night on the fourth floor, but the air conditioning is always a plus that is missed
The hotel was overall good. It’s in a great location and has a very very classic vibe. It does feel a bit old-fashioned, but we saw that as part of Vienna’s charm.

United KingdomVery noisy as on junction of 2 or 3 roads and the traffic noise carried up.
Huge room for 5 of us. A fridge which was really useful. Good shower, although quite cramped size wise. Lovely little window corner which was nice for getting a breeze in the sizzling heat. Good storage. Good location - probably in university part of city. Easy walking to centre but not busy.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi was hit and miss, but being in the city centre I had 5G anyway, so it wasn’t a problem. Our double bed was made up of two mattresses that slid apart, but you can request a full double mattress which I would recommend. The curtains let in a lot of light — if you visit in the spring/summer and wake easily then you will definitely need an eye mask.
The hotel is very traditional but actually quite charming — very historic. Our room was unexpectedly very large, with beautiful windows and lovely views, and it was also very quiet. Only once did we hear the floorboards above us creak and only very slightly. It’s well connected and close to the heart of Vienna. It has everything you need for an excellent price. Some members of our group had breakfast and said it was fantastic. Reception is manned 24 hours a day which is helpful, and you can buy soft drinks, some snacks and beers from there too.

United KingdomNo ability to make tea\coffee. The decor etc was a bit dated. I am not really bothered about that and it had it's charm, but others may prefer a more modern feel. I had asked if it were possible to supply a cake to the room before we got there, but this was ignored.
The room was a very good size. Nice high ceiling. No aircon, but a powerful fan did the trick. The beds did not have a particularly deep mattress on, but they were surprisingly comfortable all the same and a good size. The windows blocked out a fair amount of the noise from the street. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building was quite interesting in it's age. Although located a bit at the edge of the city, there was plenty around it to be of interest and it did make it a bit more peaceful.

United KingdomMy room was in some sort of attic, which I was not expecting. I had looked at the photos and read comments and no mention of attic rooms was made. I think it would be good to make it clear when booking..
The location is great! It is very close to Vienna University, which I was visiting for work. It is also at a walking distance from the historic centre..
