How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing long weekend at Das Kitz. The location is beautiful, slightly up on a hill with impressive views of the surrounding mountains. Once you enter the chalet you feel like in your private retreat with a great indoor pool (paradise for our kids!), well-equipped/comfortable/clean apartments and plenty of common spaces where you can enjoy peaceful time together in this alpine scenery. The host was very friendly and easy to work with - welcoming us with a few little gifts for our stay. Das Kitz Jochberg is overall the perfect place to spend a few days with friends and/or family. Plenty of space to have privacy but also to spend time together - right next to plenty of outdoor activities (skiing, hiking, swimming, biking etc) and many great restaurants. We hope to return soon!

Verified reviewAs an American traveler, We didn't have working cell service or email access when on the road (other than wifi hotspots). The host contacted us, day of, to set up a key drop off via email/text but we couldn't see these messages so this lead to some confusion. Maybe reaching out a week in advance would have avoided any confusion. That said, they worked with us to quickly correct our issues and we had a great stay.

Renters beware….The pictures on Booking.com are deceiving; make sure you stay only in the deluxe. those are the photos you see are of the Deluxe apartments-(1 picture is of the living area of Superior apartment Chloe yet that isn’t clear) our bedroom & apartment were like being in a camper- bed took up the entire room( you could only enter and exit the bed from the end) our bathroom was the same- camper size and the plumbing had a sewage smell the entire time :( & your balcony is shared with the other superior apartment & not private & looks nothing like the photos:( ***we then had 200 euro added for cleaning & our 2 Chihuahua sized dogs!!?!? sharing the living area of Chloe so you all can identify the 1 & only picture posted!! Sorry, didn’t take one of bedroom or bath
Dear Mr. and Mrs., During your stay we were constantly in contact with you and you never once complained to us. We regret that the apartment was not up to your expectations. The day before you arrived, a guest gave us 9 points for the same apartment. The previous guest gave us 10 points. You checked in on black friday for un unbelievable apartment rate in our smallest apartment which still covers more than 40m² in Kitzbühel area. You also visited our most expensive apartments. Unfortunately you did not give any indication that you would like to rent them or upgrade. Even you booked the smallest apartment you shouldn't have enter the wellness with your street shoes and 2 dogs. Our house rules terms are visible to all our guests. You didn't specify when booking that you were bringing 2 dogs with you and you didn't want to pay the 15€ rate per dog. We offer you our link to make reservations exclusively in our wellness/pool/sauna area, but you couldn't operate the reservation software, but we were happy to reserve it for you every day for free. We really try to please our guests and do our best. We will be happy if you want to book the ones you saw at your arrival next time. Maybe this is more convenient for you. The bedroom we stayed in our room was very small and dark and without any windows.
Thank you for this review! The concept of this, separated, en-suite double bedroom is that its 'windows' can be opened and fresh air coming into the apartment refreshes the air in the bedroom at the same time. We regret this concept is not most favourite to you.
