All the rooms are you two flights of stairs 📶. My situation is different, so I had a very large, heavy suitcase. The manager was kind and carried it up for me, but I had to get it back down at 5am. As a basic hostel, there was a supply of towels which was nice. No soap or shampoo in the bathroom.

Sadly, I completely failed to take any photos. Before arriving there was good messaging for communication. They shared tips with me about using the local bus 🚌 to visit Cerro Campanario mountain ⛰️ which was MUCH less expensive than a tour price. Payment is made by cash or bank transfer only, so be prepared 💸. As someone from the USA, getting cash in Argentina 🇦🇷 has been very difficult and expensive. I slept here just one partial night 🌙 due to an early morning flight ✈️, so I didn't use the kitchen or common areas at all. They both looked nice and comfortable. The location is good for many reasons. It is a longer walk down to the main area, but not terrible. I will recommend this as an option for people traveling behind me.

Opening and closing the doors of and in the room is causing noise because of friction. It means you wake up whenever someone is using the bathroom or comes in or goes out. Noise in the lobby area travels up the staircase (sitting area and rooms). However, these are minor issues. Stayed 10 days!

The location is 1.6 km from the pier in Central Bariloche and 2 km from the bus terminal. It is a bit uphill in a quiet area of town. There is a Carrefour supermarket nearby. Facilities such as the hot shower and the beds are good. Wifi is a bit slow in the room. The kitchen area is spacious and very suitable for cooking and having a meal. The hostel is usually quiet. Guests are a pleasant mix of Argentinians and Western travellers. The manager is strict, but reasonable and an okay man.

It did the job. The room was an ok size a bit smaller than we thought. Kitchen was a good size and outdoor space really nice to chill in the sun in.

The owner gave me a strange vibe - that kind of Argentinian who isn't happy to have a non-spanish speaking customer. I asked him twice to extend and he refused it until I told him to do it on booking.com. He also barely smiles which gives customers a feeling of not being welcome. The room was tiny, the lockers underneath the bed weren't suitable for big luggage and the room door didn't close properly.

The kitchen had everything you needed but not enough space to move around. Be aware that you constantly need to ask someone to move. There were enough common areas - kitchen, outdoor and a couch area inside.

The walls don't have great sounds proof and you can hear everything going around outside. The check-in desk is closed all night.

The room is not small the bathroom is good. The kitchen is well equipped and pretty big. The beds are pretty good. Price is pretty cheap

It was fine for us but I wouldn't say it was a social hostel.

The location was great, the room was clean and warm with a little heater. The shower was hot and probably the best we have experienced in South America. Raul was a kind and friendly host who went out of his way to help us. The kitchen was large and well equipped. It was an excellent stay, we would definitely stay again.

Raúl is really great with all of his guests. He has developed a comfortable hostel with a large well-equipped kitchen, nice lounges, good Wi-Fi, comfortable beds and hot showers! What’s not to love!

the first room I had what seemed like an “extra” bed in the room. it really should only be 4 beds to a room for maximum comfort. that bed had a locker but without ability to lock it. the second room I stayed in (two separate stays) had four beds and all with lockable lockers (perfect!) the one main “bad” thing was that the hostel dorms with attached bathrooms, it’s great to limit the bathroom to only you and three others but - those bathroom doors were sooooo squeaky so i felt bad being so noisy in the morning to the other dorm mates, but overall these small annoyances were nothing compared to how great the host, the kitchen, and overall comfortability were!

oh my gosh, the owner/manager of Hostel Nix is the NICEST host I’ve encountered in the last two months across three countries!! The kitchen was lovely, very large and equipped with all cookware as well as spices, cooking oil etc. and plenty of seating area. nice outdoor patio. Location is a bit out of town, so more quiet, and only a lovely twenty minute walk by the lake to the center. I was able to safely leave my luggage during a three day hike in the National park which was perfect!
