How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

nothing all was very good
Nicola was extremely kind and helpful. He has even lent me a bicycle to reach the castle . the place is just on top of the main road but double glasses at the window make it soundproof.

You need to understand that the music is loud, very loud. It is very good music IMHO but it goes on until midnight every night. It's an amazing scene and atmosphere, but if you're an early sleeper this won't suit you.
The accommodation is great and the host, Nikola and his brother are very friendly, attentive and the place is comfortable and spotless. The location is in the heart of the city with an amazing Cuban-like nightlife, bar, restaurant and music scene.

The owners were incredibly nice, attentive and prepared breakfast when we did not even expect it either. They even kept our luggage free of charge (when anywhere else in Shkoder charges 5€/day).

The only problem was the loud music in the streets. We stayed at accommodation on Friday, so if you are sensitive to loud music, do not stay here at weekends..

There is sometimes live music outside at night and it might bother some people
The owner is a very nice person with good conversation. He is very helpful and he let us use the bicycles for free. The place is clean and the bed is comfortable.

The house is located on a party street, but the music turns of at twelve and then it is quiet. So it is not the most tranquil place, but for a night in Shkodër it is perfect
Lovely room in the center of Shkoder. Shared bathroom and kitchen, and the facilities are great and spacious. The host made us breakfast, which was so tasty. Toni is a very nice host and definitely worth a visit.

The owner is super friendly and always ready to help you with any questions regarding your stay in Shkoder. Super clean house. Super convenient location in the city centre and close to the bus station (7 minutes to walk). Reasonable price for this accommodation .Definitely recommend!

It may not suit some but I enjoyed the experience ! Of being a solo traveller, lying in bed listening to the live street music outside, without having to sit by myself or buy drinks below in the cafes. I also went off to sleep and slept well during the music. The music stops at midnight, if not before, so not really late!
The bed was comfortable. It is a family home run by two brothers who are absolutely lovely and keep it spotlessly clean. I had one of the 3 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms on the top floor and so there was never any wait. Tony makes fresh coffee for guests in the morning if you have time and lends his 2 bicycles to guests feee of charge. He also stored my own bike for me undercover in the courtyard. Excellent value for a location in the fun of the old town.

Very comfortable property in the heart of Shköder old town. The host Nicola was supremely welcoming and hospitable (I even left some trousers there accidentally and he got in touch with me to let me know - when we arrived back in town he was available immediately and had even washed them for me!). We stayed in a few really great guesthouses during our time in Albania, but this was the best. Dripping with character, great facilities, comfortable and stunning location. We hope to be back!

The brothers owning the hotel are incredibly kind, they provided us with a small breakfast every morning and rooms are clean and comfortable. They let us use their bikes for free.

The host was super nice and welcoming! He very kindly made us coffee before our shuttle bus in the early hours of the morning which we appreciated greatly. Thank you! Great location, big room, clean bathrooms, good kitchen for making breakfast.

There was no mirror in the room we stayed.
The location is great, close to the city and in the streets where night life can be enjoyed. The owner was so nice and offered good service.

Perfect location in the city centre. Very nice and helpful host. We could rent bikes for free. The morning coffee and biscuits made us very happy.

Close to the city centre, very clean and confortable rooms. In the summer season, the streets can get very busy in the evenings due to live music so prepare an earplugs if you need a quiet sleep. :D Otherwise perfect place, good value for money. Nicola (owner) is very nice and superfriendly. :)
