How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was a little confusing to get to and didn’t have a sign, but once we got there we messaged them and they came out to get us so no big deal.

The Location is a bit away from the city centre and the roads leading there are not the best

There was no mirror in the room. The location is a little bit far from center (20-23 minutes walking).
Staff was very friendly & helpful. She provided us slippers because the floor was cold. She also helped us to book taxi. The Room was big & clean.

It has everything you need but it’s simple. Make sure to pay up for a room with AC (it’s not very much more) and don’t expect luxury. Everything is very clean - the laundry smelt amazing - and the owner is so lovely and smiley (but doesn’t speak English). There’s an area to cook outside which anyone can use and a nice seating area. Just think, simple, family owned guest stay, in the middle of nowhere, but perfect for a stop off!
The guesthouse is located about a 15-20mins walk from the city centre and there’s not a lot to see/do much closer, but there’s a mini market/fruit market extremely close, lots of space for parking and a bus that comes outside the guesthouse in the AM for Lake Komani Ferry/Shala River Tours!

We came with our car. They have very good private parking in the garden. Location in walking distance from city center. Rooms are clean an spacious. New shared bathroom. Good value for money. Recommended

Everything was alright
I low key enjoyed everything. The only problem I experienced was finding the location, but you should look for blue gates, they’re the only ones in the street. Internet was alright, facilities were clean and proper etc. Generally speaking, Shkoder somehow seemed the only place in Albania I enjoy to the highest extent. Shkoder is a smaller town than the rest I’ve been to in Albania and yet somehow I met more cheerful people 😁

The house is designed to keep the heat outside on hot summer days. I stayed in winter, it took some time to get the humid air out of my room. Luckily the days were sunny during my stay, so I could air my room and let the sun shine in.
The guesthouse has no bunk beds. I booked for a bed in a dorm, but got a very comfortable double bed in a private room. Because it was winter I got two duvet and an electrical heather. The house has beautiful wooden furniture, that gave me the feeling of staying in a family home. Rosa is a caring host, even when guests behave very different than locally accepted. The shower is really hot. The house is surrounded by a big garden, so there is always a spot where you can catch sunlight during lunch in winter. Rosa came to clean every day. I met some real pleasant fellow travellers.

Place was a bit hard to find. No visible signs or markings.
Host was very friendly. Turned out we had the entire place to ourselves, so that was very luxurious. Host was on the location within ten minutes of calling.

There is only one bathroom for all the rooms and people camping. The owner only speaks albanian. We struggled to check in because se wasn't at the place and didn't answered the phone
The place itself is cool and chill with a big garden and the possibility to park the car inside

The location is hard to find, it's not marked on Google maps, there is no sign on the gate or door. I arrived at night and there's no way that you will find it unless guests are talking in the garden and you hear them. If you are staying on the upper floor then be careful because the stairs are badly made.
The room is decent and the bathroom is very good. The internet worked well. You can drink the water there and it tastes good.
