Amazing place right on the river, with comfortable beds/blankets, rooms with AC, nice showers and good water pressure.

The beach beds in front of the property aren’t included in the price, they are 10 extra euros.

They helped us a lot getting to Lumi I Shales (bus and boat), the bed was really good, the place is really pretty and the guy who helps with the boat speaks English and is very helpful and nice. Overall we think it was really worth it. Lumi I Shales is amazing.

The room is a bit noisy, since it's all made of wood, for us, the breakfast is a bit different but is ok, some people in the restaurant don't look like they are in a good mood.

You're paying for the location, and that is absolutely delivered-- beautiful setting, lovely view, and very comfortable room! Surprised and delighted by the wifi and the aircon, both of which worked a treat.

Staff were the absolute crankiest people and every single interaction we had (checking in, paying the bill, ordering breakfast) seemed painful to them, like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world. I get there's a lot of tourists coming through here and the job can get tiring, but far out, way to be a wet blanket to people's holiday with your sour attitude, guys...

Very clean room, working AC and bathrooms and right on top of Lumi Shales to take a swim and have a great day. Do stay here as they arrange for the boat and pickup from Shkoder if you need

The guesthouse is in a great location along the Shala River. The balcony overlooking the place was great and the beds were comfortable.

Some of the staff were really rude- considering the price we paid for 2 nights, they did not want to serve us, or answer some very general questions we had. Also thought the beach beds would have been included in the price during morning/ afternoon once the tour boats left. We were told we cannot have lunch at the place because of tour groups and also our shower did not work.

The rooms of the guesthouse were very clean and comfortable and the AC worked great. The food was great and they had many good choices for lunch and dinner, the included breakfast was also tasteful. Mauritzio picked us up on the boat, checked us into our room, and was there for anything we needed. The staff was kind and communicative. The surrounding area is stunning with many fun activities. The overall stay was incredible and I would 100% recommend it.

A Hidden Gem Along the Shala River – Highly Recommended! Staying at Livadhi Guesthouse was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Albania. Nestled deep along the breathtaking Shala River, the journey there — a 45-minute boat ride through dramatic canyons and pristine nature — is an experience in itself. The guesthouse is beautifully located, offering stunning river views, crystal-clear water for swimming, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. I highly recommend staying at least two nights. While one day is enough to enjoy the scenery and activities, it’s in the quiet mornings — when the mist hangs low over the river and everything is still — that you truly feel the magic of this place. A big thank you to Marius and his team, who were incredibly kind and helpful. I had mistakenly booked the wrong room, but they went out of their way to make sure everything was sorted quickly and smoothly. Their hospitality made all the difference. Whether you’re looking for adventure, nature, or just some true tranquility, Livadhi Guesthouse delivers on all fronts. We really loved our stay!

There is no hairdryer on the room, so make sure you bring it with you.

The location is incredible and we had a beautiful view in a corner room overlooking the river. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.

The power and water was out when we woke up in the morning (AC off, toilet didn’t flush etc), but we left early so it didn’t bother us too much. The shower also didn’t have a proper holder so you had to hold with your hand which was a bit inconvenient. The toilet was also constantly running

Amazing location - right on the shores of the beautiful Shala river- like a little paradise ! . Staff were welcoming and always available to help . They let us have the sun beds for free after their afternoon rush of visitors had left, and were very attentive . The place is surreal and stunningly beautiful - especially when it became much quieter after the day trippers left at 2pm . We loved going kayaking as the sun set . Thank you !

Good menu was limited and expensive , but apart from that it was perfect ! Breakfast was lovely

Absolutely Magical Stay at Livadhi Guesthouse! I can’t recommend this place highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. The location is breathtaking – nestled right next to crystal-clear water that looks like something out of a postcard. Waking up to that view every morning was such a treat. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the start. You can really tell they care about creating a wonderful experience for every guest. One of the highlights was the beautiful boat ride to the accommodation – such a peaceful and scenic way to arrive! It truly set the tone for the rest of our stay. And the breakfast each morning? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and the perfect way to start the day. If you’re looking for a relaxing, picturesque getaway with amazing service and unbeatable natural beauty, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

good location right at the river, rooms had good aircon and we felt welcome. good mattress. Pickup went smooth, we had a seemingly new white boat do the transfers. We heated other guests about a different boat.

the rooms are basic but sufficient. I did read about people getting food poisoning from lunch/dinner and unfortunately we are also currently experiencing this as a result of our lunch. The fish was very good but we suspect the cheese or sauce was not….found out the hard way

Exceptional view in a room at the front of the guesthouse. Maurizio who greeted us was helpful and explained everything. We had a balcony to enjoy the mountains, very central and good sized room - a double and single which we booked for two people. Very clean and very comfortable beds. Staff manager offered someone to carry our bags over the stones to catch the boat.

Staff in the morning were less accommodating, perhaps because the waiter didn’t understand English very well and could not get me a tea ( the coffee is a bit strong but I didn’t think it would be so unusual to ask for tea) and staff smoking, even outside was a bit unpleasant during breakfast. The lad who carried our bags was so clearly furious about being forced to do it made the experience a bit uncomfortable!

The property is beautiful! Well kept cozy wooden rooms. The rooms are very big with a beautiful view. It is the perfect picture perfect spot and great for both couples and families. Easy to go up and get a coffee, soda or a beer after a nice swim! Great, clean and beautiful rooms and hotel! The people running the place are kind and extremely helpful - we truly enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to everyone! Truly a 10/10 experience!!

    We loved everything.

Livadhi is a nice guesthouse in the middle of the “beach”, it has a nice family vibe to it (but we saw all Linda of travellers there). The rooms are really good and clean, with comfortable beds, and were ready when our boat arrived. The guesthouse went above and beyond to organise the trip for our family, including a car pick up from our hotel outside of shkoder, right to the bus and the boat, and back the same way. Thank you so much for this!! At the guesthouse, maurizio took very good care of our family and also made sure we got safely on the boat back (important, since they don’t leave very frequently). It’s touristy at shala river, true. But it’s also a breathtakingly beautiful setting with pristine clear and very cold mountain water. If it weren’t this organised, we wouldn’t have been able to come with our three kids.

The only thing that is a caveat is the really, really bad road into the mountains. The bus driver did all he could but beware that it’s a long, long mountain road, so be prepared if you’re prone to car sickness. If that’s not a problem, go for it, and then livadhi is a good choice as far as I can tell.
