The airco in our room worked, but not perfectly. It had to struggle to cool the room. There could be some other minor details but since we forgot what they were, they probably aren’t worth to mention.

Hotel Kalemi 2 is located right at the old city center of Gjirokastër. A great location, but a bit of a challenge to drive to with a car. The roads are narrow, steep and made of (beautiful) old stones. Nice, but as mentioned: a challenge. However once arrived, the staff will welcome you with great hospitality! Our room was decorated traditionally, but all modern facilities are available. The location is perfect! It’s a 2 minutes walk to the old city center with lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops. It might take another 15 to 20 minutes walk to the beautiful castle of Gjirokastër. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location, peaceful setting, and the dinner was simply delicious 🤩. What really makes the place special is the incredible kindness of the hosts – they make you feel right at home with so much care and attention. I’d go back in a heartbeat and recommend it with my eyes closed!

The suite was gorgeous and huge. It had 2 air conditioners which was helpful in cooling it off. The staff was great. They offered room service as well as breakfast.

How to get there as the GPS takes you to blocked road and streets are verry narrow. the Staff was super nice and came to where we were stuck and guided us to the hotel parking.

Great location, good breakfast included, kettle in the room, parking available (plus help to turn around in narrow cobbled streets!). Set up twin beds for us in the room upon request (friends sharing) and as room was ready were able to check in early.

Tasty traditional breakfast. The rooms were cold in february but after one hour the AC did its job. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Traditional atmosphere. The receptionist was very nice, helpful and spoke good English. We didn't find the free parking (the GPS didn't manage to take us in front of the hotel, but we left the car nearby and went on by foot. No discomfort)

Not a negative- just a beware- definitely follow the landmarks shared by hotel staff for accessing the hotel. Otherwise you could end up streets impossible to navigate. Trust me 🙃

Lovely room and gorgeous view of the castle, right near the heart of the bazaar/old town. This also meant some late night bar music (until 11:15) but we didn’t mind. The generous breakfast, comfortable bed, and friendly staff were all positives!
