How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Renato and his wife are truly wonderful and very helpful. Their English is excellent, which makes communication very easy. They did everything to help us print our bus ticket and made sure we got it on time despite a small technical issue. The location is great and the garden is a lovely place to relax

The bathrooms are a bit small and hard to use.
Staff are lovely. They have a cute cat. Location is perfect and the decor is really cute. Lovely breakfast

We liked the peaceful atmosphere of InTown Guesthouse. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, we had a good sleep there. The tasty breakfast was served in the courtyard/garden. Renato and his wife are wonderful and professional hosts. We would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

Such a great location and value for money. The room was clean and modern and the owner was so incredibly friendly and welcoming. The local breakfast was 10/10 - couldn’t recommend more!

We loved the location - right on old town area and also adored the hosts Renato and his wife. They went above and beyond to give us recommendations, help us organise a bus to Theth and even find a local dry cleaner. Plus they have the most adorable cat Bubba!

Their genuine heartfelt hospitality, attention to details with guests in mind, clean cozy room are big enough for three people, delicious Albanian breakfast, packed lunches for early morning departures, and a quiet location even city center - this guesthouse will make your stay in Shkoder meaningful and happy!

The InTown guesthouse was an absolute joy to stay in. Centrally located, it’s perfect for getting around. Renata went out of his way to help me plan the perfect day and also arranged a very reasonably priced taxi to get me to my next destination.

We liked everything.
Perfect location, helpful, friendly and very attentive owners, great place when you have a car and want to hike the valbona- teth hike. Close to the office of North Albania Alps. Good breakfast, very nice garden. Very good restaurant recommendations.

On the second night there was loud techno music in the nearby bar, so it was noisy until late.
The hosts were incredibly friendly, the guesthouse is super cute and the location is great.

Renato and his partner were brilliant hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Renato helped to clarify our route to Theth / Valbone / Lumi I Shales and back to Shokdra. We received advice for a booking agent nearby which was fairly priced and great service too. We received a packed breakfast which was delicious and they kept our bags whilst we did our walking trail for a few days. The location was excellent, a few seconds walk from lots of bars, restaurants and cafes. Our room was super comfy and clean, we also enjoyed using the outdoor area.

Renato was the most helpful and generous host. He helped us organise all our transport for the Valbone to Theth loop and was always available for any questions. The accommodation was also so lovely and in an amazing location with access to the old town. The accommodation had parking and when we had to leave our car for a few days, Renato also organised this for us. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

The most beautiful guest house we have ever stayed in. Renato and his wife were so welcoming,friendly and kind. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and delicious and served in the shared garden. It is in an excellent location too, just off the main street so it feels quiet. Definitely recommend hiring bikes and cycling to the lake. Thank you. We hope to return one day.

If you are Shkoder please stay here. Renato is the most attentive host and the house is comfortable and beautiful. Honestly the best stay of our vacation. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Felt like a home away from home the minute we were welcomed by the hosts! Such a lovely couple that run this guesthouse, very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The room is perfect for a couple nights stay, with plenty of storage for bags. The bathroom was was clean and well kept. Beautiful shared courtyard to unwind and relax, especially in the evenings and for a lovely homemade breakfast in the mornings! Could not fault this guesthouse, would definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Everything here was perfect. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Renato was very helpful, he helped us book transport to Theth, looked after our bags while we were away and printed off our bus tickets for onward travel to Montenegro. The breakfast was also lovely, I would definitely recommend staying here!!

There was nothing we didn’t like.
Everything about this property is first rate. It was particularly nice to be met by the hosts, and to interact with them throughout our stay. Renato gave us great advice about the town and suggested 2 restaurants, both of which we tried and both were excellent and reasonably priced. The breakfast was great, and on the morning we left for an early bus we were provided with a packed breakfast. They also store luggage free of charge for those (like us) walking the Valbone-Teth trail.
