Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThe parking was always full, and you had to leave your car keys with a valet, who parked the car for you once a slot freed up. The ridiculously high prices for the sunbeds in the hotel’s private beach…. They should be free for guests. The lowest price you could get for simple sunbeds in a crowded area was 25€ (with guest discount already applied!)
Breathtaking view from the breakfast balcony… Worth every single penny, just to wake up to that glorious view every morning!

United KingdomFamily room had the air conditioner a little old fashioned and the balcony was wet all the time, Family bathroom could have been done better.
Clean, once you get around it seems pretty easy. Within reach of the beach, and the centre is just a little walk away.

SpainThis is just a thing that happened in our case but the fridge in our room made an annoying noise all the time, particularly annoying at night. Otherwise all good 😊
The hotel is very nice, with a great view from the restaurant. It also has a private beach with sunbeds if that is your thing. The room was very clean and breakfast was quite good.

Czech RepublicThe room was okay, but it definitely looks better on photos. This is just aesthetical thing, no big deal. However, for this amout of money for a room per night, I would expect complimentary water, at least, or free stay at the beach. We chose this hotel just because of the beach, and after reservation, they text you a message that in summer, you have to pay every day to be there, which was a bit dissapointing. I am already paying more because of main season, and still, there is even a "beach fee". Yes, you get 20 % discount, but still...
The staff was great, we got the room we wanted and they were helpful a lot when we needed. The private beach was stunning! And we loved there is restaurant there. Even the breakfast was delicious!

United StatesEven tho it was beachfront the sun beds were not available to the guests, you had to pay to use them and that only if you find free ones, there was a discount for hotel guests which is worth mentioning. The parking space was super small and tight. Considering everything the price was quite higher than the average in the area.
Very modern space and clean facilities, the breakfast was amazing with so many choices and the staff were super friendly. The beach was also very nice and enjoyable. Mbappé the turtle (close to the stairs) was a very sweet addition to the place 😁.

SlovakiaPerfect breakfast, byt they don't change them, so take it into account. The staff was exceptional, everyone was helpful, especially Erind in restaurant. Always making us smile. We had dinners as well. I loved the food, many variants with sea food and always great. The beach was with rocks, and the sea was cold, but it was ok just to refresh ourselves.

NorwayWe were three families, good friends from Norway that for a long time have talked about having a vacation together. So 17 people aging from 17 to around 50 decided to travel to Albania, Sarande and Hotell Apollon for one week in June 2025. Our family have now just returned back home and the conclusion is : We are so happy that we landed on exactly this trip, with Albania, Sarande and Hotell Apollon, and we feel priveliged to have experienced the genuine warmt and hospitality from each person at the hotell, that in any situation did all they could to make our stay the very best. Our family had three rooms, two superior with balcony and seaview, and one superior with balcony and partly seaview. We enjoyed both type of rooms, and the seaview is worth the extra. The location for this Hotell is really good, about a 10-15 minute walk to the area where most happenings and restaurants are, and at the same time situated in a quiet area where you also find relevant services as supermarkets and restaurants close by. Nice Gym only 5 min. away, and a good startingpoint for morning runs or walks. The private beach just by the hotel is super, and we stayed there most of the days. Hotel was really helpful with organising transport to and from the Tirana Airport and a private boat trip for the whole group one of the days, and they linked us up with serious and good companies for these activities. Hotel was clean and rooms were made up with new towels and sheets every day. We also want to highlight the restaurant in the hotel, where we had breakfast every day and dinner four times. The view and the staff are wonderful, and the restaurant has good space and a nice breeze in the warm evenings in Sarande. Food is really good. Overall Hotel Apollon was a very good choice for us, that in a wonderful way through each person working at the hotel did everything to make our stay the very best. And they managed. Hope to be back one day.

United KingdomThere immediate area around the hotel are a bit hilly. The incline might be a challenging walk for those with mobility issues.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Hotel Apollon in Saranda. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a sea-facing balcony that was a real highlight—perfect for enjoying the stunning views. The breakfast buffet offered a generous and tasty spread, a great way to start each day. The hotel’s location was convenient, just a short walk from the promenade and nearby restaurants. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a beautiful setting. I can imagine it gets very busy during the peak season but as our holiday was in early June, we were fine.

United KingdomSome things that are more observations than dislike: there was no pool (however when you book there is no mention of one so it’s not a surprise), but it would be a nice edition, also the shower glass seems not to extent far enough out and there is no door meaning the floor can sometimes get very in the bathroom if you’re not carful, however that is only a minor inconvenience and didn’t ruin my stay. One thing I did dislike - although it is a private beach, you still have to pay for use of the sun loungers, the double bed style ones on closest to the water with nets over hanging cost 5000 Lek (£43.57GBP or €51.05 Euro or $59.52 USD at time of writing review) for the day
We booked a deluxe side sea view room with balcony. We loved this hotel. The location was great, it was situated on a street with a verity of local restaurant, a car rental shop across the road as well as a normal shop, and it is virtually on the beach. The views you get when having breakfast over looking the water and corfu are phenomenal. Breakfast was a buffet style continental breakfast. Every single staff member was super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, a particular shout out to Elsi, our waiter on both nights we visited the hotel restaurant, he was very attentive and would be ready to fill you glass of wine back up the second you finished it. It was very clean in our room, the pillow and mattress looked brand new under the sheets, the pillow we were provided with were a gel cooked memory foam which was a nice touch in the heat. The air con in the room was very effective as long as you kept the window to the balcony closed. There was a fridge in the room to keep your water cool and a safe for all your documents. The private beach and sun loungers with umbrellas provide a great place to relax all day if you wish over looking the water.

United KingdomRestaurant menu could be better. Albania has good vegetarian food but there's not much of it on the menu (whatever you order is good though!) Breakfast is a bit disappointing. Eggs on a buffet get cold, orange "juice" was processed - not actual juice, and the quality of coffee from the coffee machine was disappointing. A welcome pack or info in the room would be nice Towels for use on the beach could have been included in the room

AlbaniaThe bath water wasn't warm most of the time, 2 times we couldn't wash the baby because of it. Whenever I had to take my baby out of the room, I had to lift the stroller through the stairs, because the only option was to take the long path. In addition, I was surprised when I got the message that I have to pay extra for sun beds. It's a shame when you pay a premium price for this hotel to ask for an additional 10 euros. Overall, it’s a very good hotel with great potential to meet its claims, but honestly, it still has a long way to go.

SloveniaThe breakfast selection was not the best. It also bothered me that hotel staff stood near the counter, leaning and watching what people were taking. It gave us the feeling that they were judging us. The hotel has two sections, an old and a new one, and you don't know which room you'll get. If you pay for a sea view, you'll definitely be in the old section. The rooms are not modernly equipped, and the showers don't have doors, which leaves half of the bathroom wet.
When we arrived at the hotel, our room was immediately changed because the kettle in our original room was broken. Once they realized that the repair would take longer, they quickly offered us another room. We appreciated that in the restaurant, beach bar, and on the beach, we could pay for drinks by signing the bill, and the charges were added to our room account. This way, we didn't have to worry about carrying cash with us. However, the sunbeds on the beach were not included in the hotel price and had to be paid for separately, which could have been included. The staff in the restaurant and beach bar were excellent and very friendly.

IrelandThe shower is very small & has no closing doors so the bathroom floor gets very wet. Towels were changed daily so it was easy to dry the floor after. Breakfast was average. Sun loungers other than the most basic ones are very expensive.

United KingdomThe room was very small and not a lot of room for us to put our suitcases but it was perfectly fine. You have to pay for beds on the hotel beach, you get a discount if 20%.
Convenient location for all bars, restaurants, port etc and extremely friendly staff who are willing to help. Really nice bar and restaurant. Room was very clean. One of the best beaches in the area but you have to pay for it.
