There was nothing I didn’t like but there were steep steps to the room and the bedroom was pretty small, but everything else more than made up for it. I actually liked the steps but my husband doesn’t have great balance.

So beautiful and peaceful. The staff were absolutely brilliant. The bathroom is big, clean and well-finished with a good shower. Campfires at night and a friendly puppy - what more could you ask for?!

We stayed two nights in this wonderful location. The room was pretty small, yet had a fantastic view overlooking the river. The hosts were wonderful and breakfast was excellent. Communication was super easy. Albania at its best.

It is not something the guesthouse can influence, but the amount of people and the music from other guesthouses from 10-16. After 16 it quiets down and is great. You may also enjoy the music based on personal preferences.

The hosts were very friendly, very kind and helpful. We really appreciated the hospitality and would gladly come back! The reviews from other guests are correct. The property looks new and is well maintained. Five minutes upstream you can find quiet places with no music. The guesthouse itself does not play any music, which we appreciated.

We had the most wonderful stay at this accommodation. Definitely the best choice in Shala River! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable—they even brought over an extra day bed so our group could sit together, filled up our water bottles with ice cold water, replaced our towels daily. They helped organise our transport, which made everything so smooth and stress-free. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, and the room was spotlessly clean. But the real highlight was how genuinely kind and welcoming the staff were. It really felt like they cared about making our experience memorable. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Shala River—it’s a peaceful, beautiful spot with amazing hospitality!

Guru and Lekes provide wonderful accommodation, so there is nothing to worry about here. It is clear that there are a few more guesthouses being developed so my only comment will be that I hope the developments are carefully planned to minimise environmental impact.

Beautiful location. Excellent communication pre-arrival. . Yum breakfast. Lovely team looking after you. The parking arrangements worked well (see below). Room was spotless. Things that important to know: If you are driving, everyone has to drop their car at a carpark before the tunnel to the tiny harbour where you find the boat to take you to G i L. The parking looks less official than the others but the family are absolutely lovely. They were ready to take us one hour before the boat as promised. The tiny harbour is VERY busy, but everyone is super helpful and our boat was there on time. The journey to Shala river is stunning. There is a 5-10 min walk from where the boat drops you which might be tricky if you have a buggy or infirm (mixture of stones, pebbles and sand). You walk pass a surprising number of guesthouses. G I L is nearly at the end which is lovely and quieter. Dinner is reasonable if you are staying overnight. But you have options to eat in other places. There are beautiful walks into the valley above. Our favourite was walking upstream along the river, pass the last guest house and a little bar. Take water shoes as the water is crystal clear but big smooth pebbles on the bottom. G i Lekes is very calm and chilled out (even if one or two of the other guest houses were a bit noisy with their music. Everywhere was pretty peaceful by 9 or 10pm.

Room was a bit small but didn’t really matter because you’re hardly in it! And Wi-Fi connection was a bit sparse but other than that amazing!!

Location was great! Close enough to enjoy everything that was going on at the top end of the river and then nice to enjoy the peacefulness of where the guest house is. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Room was lovely and a modern big bathroom.

I loved this property. The inside was really nice and clean and it had a really nice smell as well. The views were really nice and the property was really well maintained. The staff was lovely and very informative about everything you want to ask them. The prepared our breakfast ahead of time because we had to leave early so I big thank you to them.The food was nice as well .

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The communication with the host was immediate and helpful. The boat transport was perfectly organized. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming – I can’t forget to mention how lovely they all were. If you want to truly experience Albanian hospitality – “God in the house, guest in the house” – Guri i Lekës is the place to be. Highly recommended!

When we arrived, the whole place was out of electricity and was running on a generator. Upon asking what happened, they just shrugged and said they didn't know. Apparently this can happen since the country has few providers and sometimes their service fails. It didn't last too long, but having the information when we arrived would have been helpful

They helped us on arranging the transportation to Komani lake. By staying at their guesthouse you can also sit by the parasols in front of the river, which otherwise would cost 10 euros/day. From looking at the other guesthouses, ours seemed like the best around and I would really recommend staying the night if you can. Once the final boats leave, it gets very quiet and (even more) relaxing.

Super nice people that helped us from the boat and were very friendly towards our small kids! Had nice chats with them. Room no 1 was super (max 5 persons). Very clean, comfy beds and modern bathroom. More value than other accomodations. Next time we will stay longer!

Everything was amazing from beggining when we arrive to the lake and take boat at 5pm to the end when we leave place two days later at 7am. Nature looks amazing, this is what I love. We spent two nights there and that was the best decision. If we will be back and I am sure we do we take the same accomoddation. Just remember take cash with you :D
