How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt was my first time at Villa Gjeçaj, but not my first time visiting Theth. So I knew what to expect from the mountains and the beauty of the place, but I was met with a very nice surprise staying at this typical guest House 🏠. Everybody was so kind and welcoming, the food was fresh very tasty and well cooked. The whole pace was very clean. They assisted me in getting a ground level room for my mom who can't climb stairs, also we're kind to my 12 year old, that allowed him to play with their cats. Overall the experience was great and I can't wait to get back.

Verified reviewWe realy liked the place! Stayed here for one night. The location was great, the room was perfect, the balcony had agreat view. Breakfast was local and very good ;-)
The water stream was very weak (we stayed in the first floor), the door lock was hard, I had to ask for help opening it.

Verified reviewStunning location and beautiful outside area with lovely view from its elevated position. Lovely food. Room was good and bed very comfortable. Chickens, roosters and cats all running around outside contributed to the rural atmosphere. Theth is s beautiful town and accommodation was perfect post hiking!
Aspects of the bathroom need attending to e.g. tiles need a bleach and good scrub, toilet flush handles broken snd slight effluent smell. Very slippery floor tiles means be careful when showering.

Verified reviewThis accommodation might be the nicest in Teth. The restaurant was amazing and possibly our best meal in Albania. The buildings are beautiful, both the modern built ones and the original old ones. Guests from elsewhere come to the restaurant so it’s a busy and lovely garden. The view from our room was amazing. It’s quite close to Valbone hiking trail, which made it easy to get to after finishing the hike. It’s a hidden accommodation away from busier areas, but It’s also very close to town center where you can get a bus. Overall beautiful relaxing place!

Our room was deluxe but no water or in room or glasses for water. Nothing Major but when you use the word Deluxe more is expected.

Verified reviewThe setting is stunning and the food was some of the best we had in Albania. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming! Room was perfect for what we needed and the balcony was so sweet, with a great view.
Unfortunately, we had a very noisy family above us and the walls/ceilings are quite thin, but this wasn’t obviously wasn’t the hosts fault!!

Verified reviewSTUNNING property with breathtaking views of the mountains!! I cannot emphasize the beauty of this place enough, it was humbling. The room itself was beautiful and spacious with a private patio, and the restaurant patio was even more incredibly beautiful! Staff (particularly the hostess) was lovely and always around for questions! Baby kittens included!
This is standard and very common in the mountains, so not a negative to this guesthouse at all! Just be prepared for WiFi to work best in the common areas / restaurant anywhere you stay in Theth. WiFi was perfect outside in the beautiful garden!

Verified reviewThe location is perfect, with stunning views. There is parking available. The bed was super comfortable, plenty of sheets were offered because the heating was not working at the time. The staff were exceptional. Helping in every need and cooking up a fantastic breakfast. The bathroom had a great shower and slippers were provided which is always a nice touch.
I would like a small fridge to be in the room or in the communal corridor as I had some water and drinks that I would like to have kept cool, but this is being quite picky. Otherwise everything was there!

Verified reviewThe food was very good (don’t miss the stuffed eggplant!) and the staff were super friendly. In fact, the hostess and her friend spent half an hour fixing a broken zipper on my clothing!
We were tired after a long day hiking - and even the few minutes walk from the Mimi market seemed too long for us! (Not really an issue.)

No bed side light, random light fixture not attached, broken toilet flush button, no extractor or opening window in the bathroom. Deluxe room description was underwhelming.
