With a toddler, the staff were very understanding.
Hopping on rocks to the middle of the river is a toddlers' treat. If the river was clean we would have spent hours just exploring and even had a picnic.

Main street still very pretty, with lots of quaint little...
Main street still very pretty, with lots of quaint little shops. Restaurant / Coffee Shop choices are more limited than we expected... several places are advertised but no longer exist. The rest of the town (anything a block away from the main street) is in terrible shape - roads and buildings dirty and in complete disrepair, feels very unsafe. Always a charming, quaint town to visit. We were unfortunate to visit when Parys experienced extensive flooding, so we could not do many of the activities. Oh by the way, House of Chocolate was a lovely coffee shop find with divine cakes and they referred me to Angelo's for dinner - the best pizza and pasta you'll ever have!!Guest review byNicoletteSouth Africa - 10.0
Parys is an absolute gem of a town with plenty of...
Parys is an absolute gem of a town with plenty of interesting little shops and unique findings. Some of the pricing though is exorbitant and does tend to cater for the international tourist instead of the local tourist. The people are very friendly and welcoming and there is definitely lots to see and do - not to mention the Vaal river which was at it's peak running through the town.Guest review byRochtersiaSouth Africa
