We all loved George.
We all loved George. It is so close to so many attractions and beautiful areas. It is a good base to be at to do day trips. George is so clean, and no potholes. We wished that we had more time to look around. We had a fantastic meal at Cula restaurant.Guest review byRoslynAustralia - 10.0
A small village on the east coast between George and Knysna.
A small village on the east coast between George and Knysna. People are friendly and services adequate for basic needs. Plenty of restaurants catering for a variety of cuisines some of them highly recommended. Beautiful beaches close by and stunning drives into the countryside at your doorstep.Guest review byValerieSouth Africa - 10.0

The accommodation was awesome, the reception super friendly and informative. The view was unequaled. It was a most memorable stay. The meals at Dutton's Cove were amazing. So glad that we chose Herold's Bay as a destination and Ozone Apartments as our host. The hike to the cross and the view from there was breathtaking. We were even blessed to see well over 300 dolphins in 2 consecutive days and 2 whales. Will definitely re-visit.Guest review byBrown - 10.0

Hoekwil is beautiful with lots to see - there is a big tree nearby which you can visit (make sure to wear comfortable shoes). There are also a few nice places to eat, drink coffee and enjoy the quiet surrounds. The accommodation in the area is also very nice and neat.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0
What wasn't closed for Easter was mostly booked out.
What wasn't closed for Easter was mostly booked out. Not much to do or see. Beaches overdeveloped or off limits to non residents. Not a tourist friendly town. Nearby "Wilderness" was a joke with SAN Parks waiting to fleece overseas visitors just to go for a walk. Four days of disappointment.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 8.0

Wilderness is central to big towns like Knysna and George but is away from the hustle and bustle. Calm, relaxed smaller town with everything you need. Nice restaurants, great beach and wildlife for nature lovers.Guest review byTaniaSouth Africa - 10.0
VERY GOOD ,BUT THE LOCAL SHOP HAS NOT MUCH TO OFFER.
VERY GOOD ,BUT THE LOCAL SHOP HAS NOT MUCH TO OFFER. LOW ON STOCK AND THE BREAD WERE OLD.ON SUNDAY THE PLACE WERE PACKED AND SOME VISITORS HAD FIGHTS OVER PARKING SPACE.AS THERE IS NO DEMARCATED PARKING SPACE FOR VISITORS STAYING OVER ,SO IT WAS A BATTLE IF YOU LEFT YOUR PARKING SPACE AND RETURN AND COULD NOT FIND PARKING.Guest review byludolphSouth Africa - 10.0

George is well situated to give access to plenty of lovely tourist attractions. From there it is easy to get to beautiful beaches and do some mountain trips. E.G the Power Van trip up the Outeniqua Mountains. The Red Berry farm with the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere. Plenty of hiking and mountain bike opportunities in the George area. Home to the Outeniqua Country market, but yet close enough to other must visit places like Wildernis, Mosselbaai, etc. You are also spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping and stunning restaurants. (101 Meade Street, Deacon House, Phat Fish and Cowfish to name a few.)Guest review byCorinneSouth Africa
