Great location, beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff. Very nice rooms, with full kitchen. Restaurant and sundry on site, as well as car rental which is ver convenient.
The trip was good. We all had fun at Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Mongoose Junction. All the beaches were wonderful. Trunk Bay was always full and we did not find a parking spot, so we did not make it to the beach there.
Starfish Market has all the necessities we needed for meal preps.
Just be very careful and book lodging. There were so many creepies/ crawlies in the apartment we rented.

We loved the ability to plan a new venture everyday.
We loved the ability to plan a new venture everyday. The beaches were convenient to access. The snorkeling was the best! We visited a different beach/bay area each day. We will definitely return.

Enighed is a more local, less touristy part of Cruz Bay.
Enighed is a more local, less touristy part of Cruz Bay. We could hear roosters crowing in the mornings. If you want to be close to town and don't want to stay in a fancy resort, places in Enighed are a great option.

What I liked best was our hotel (the Coconut Coast Villas) and the fact that you could walk into town or to the market if you didn't have a rental car (which we didn't for the first few days). The area is beautiful. However, our beach was rocky, so it was hard to get in and out of the water (we did it 3 times, but the last time I slipped and fell, so it's not a good idea). There's a walkable path toward the town, which will take you to another beach, but it's also rocky. The water's a little calmer there, but again, it's tricky trying to get out. So, as far as the area called Contant goes, it's fine to stay there, but you really need a car to get to a sandy, swimmable beach.

Really got run down after ther hurricanes not all the businesses came back. Really no amenities except for one market place calabash. No place to eat. Ate in the tent where we stayed a lot. Miss the donkey dinner, skinny legs and offshore bat.

The fact that's St John is relaxing and laid back more nature and historical . The national park owns a good piece of the Island so it's well preserved. Make sure you make dinner reservations for the Cruz bag area as space is very limited.

Coral Bay is a great quiet spot on the east end of St. John.
Coral Bay is a great quiet spot on the east end of St. John. There are a few restaurants and convenient stores, quiet beaches and amazing snorkeling. A rental car is a must to access this area. The only complaint is the horrible stench from the town dumpster which is right on the main road in the center of town. Why they don't relocate it elsewhere I really don't understand. If you are looking for a real getaway this is a great part of St. John, close enough to get amenities but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of life to really relax!
