FAQs about hotels in Hawaii
The American Dream
Hawaii is everything you’ve seen in films and more. The USA’s 50th and most exotic state comprises over 19 volcanic islands with diverse landscapes, amazing beaches and rainforest greenery. It’s an exclusive destination, so of all Hawaii hotels, 5 star properties make up a decent proportion.
Home to Pearl Harbour, the capital Honolulu on O’ahu island has many hotels by Waikiki beach, immortalised in song and famous for excellent nightlife and surfing, as anyone familiar with Hawaii-5-0 will know. Northern O’ahu has some of the best winter surfing around.
The nearest island is laidback Molokai and to its south is unspoilt Lanai. East is the island home to most Hawaii hotels – Maui. Hiking to the green peaks of its rugged interior gives a completely different viewpoint. Of course, the beaches are still the main attraction and there is a long line of hotels on the beach on Booking.com, from green Lahaina all the way to beautiful Kapalua. Other fantastic beaches are found at Kihei and neighbouring Wailea.
South-west is Hawai’I (Big Island), dominated by Mauna Loa – one of the world’s largest volcanoes. In its foothills are the joint resorts of Kailua and Kona, while the northern Kohala coast provides spectacular scenery. In the east Hilo curves around a bay and is home to the island’s airport.

- From US$169.86 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.6Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 1,488 reviewsI honestly don't know why this hotel's average rating is 6.5. They are very good. The hotel is simple but very clean and tidy. The service is excellent. They provide a free shuttle service from the airport that is super fast. There is coffee available in the lobby from 4 am, which is great because we leave early for activities in Oahu. The hotel has free parking. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. I read that many people complained about the noise from a nearby construction project, which is now over and that it will greatly increase the value of stays there because there is a monarail leaving the airport for Waikiki and it stops right around the corner from the hotel. Excellent! I will be back many times!Guest review byMOnicaPortugal

We got both welcome cookies and an upgrade on our special holiday. Everything was on top! The drinks were great and the pool area both included a hot tub and pool. Room was spacious and had all amenities you would need on a vacation. And big plus was the location - just right next to the International Market and Waikiki beach.Guest review byAmanda JosephineDenmark

The location and lagoon ( at the Hamilton village resort was great for swim…and fun for children…fireworks fantastic, food …sososso…not to bad..the Ilikai boardwalk is really great…for a beach swim one need to go further up the Waikiki beach…there is good sandy beach…people are very friendly…but of course take lots of money with you, all is very expansive in Hawaii…hire a car and drive around it’s easy…Guest review byWaltraudAustralia - 8.0

The area is beautiful; however, the tragedy of the loss of the Old Town Lahaina casts a pall over the area. If you have memories of before the fire, it is very, very sad to see the remains of buildings and know that over 100 people lost their lives. The sentiment of Lahaina Strong is wonderful and uplifting but as you speak with residents, the current, somber message is that we will never regain what has been lost and there is no definitive plan or timeline for rebuilding. You are asked to not take photos and to respect the area. There is a bypass road that has been built.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 10.0

The location was the best. Condo was spacious & clean. Bed super comfy. The balcony was the best. One of the main reasons we chose it. Great ocean view. Sitting there listening to the waves was lovely. Close to lots of restaurants. Kona is very walkable but there's also a free bus that runs pretty often down Alli drive. Takes you to a couple of great beaches.Guest review byWaldemarUnited States - 10.0

I LOVE Hilo!!! It still holds "The Essence of Hawaii."
I LOVE Hilo!!! It still holds "The Essence of Hawaii." It is not overrun with tall modern buildings, and "Tacky Tourist Attractions." It maintains an Old Hawaii Charm. You're not overwhelmed with street performers and aggressive sales people trying to pull you into their cosmetics stores. Yet there are still some homeless people there which is not good. However, I feel very safe in Hilo. There are nearby beautiful gardens and great beaches! Hilo is surrounded by so much natural beauty. There are some great restaurants there as well. I really like all of them, and I make sure to have at least one dinner at Hilo Bay Cafe. I also always make sure to visit the Imiloa Astronomy Center by UH Hilo. It is an excellent place to learn about the history & culture of Hawaii. And their planetarium has amazing presentations!Guest review byGayleUnited States - 10.0

This property is right in between the Marriott and the grand Wailea with beach front access. This property has beach service where they have towels and lounge chairs for the property. The property is absolutely beautiful. I found the pools to be a little too shallow for swimming. This property is located right next to a lot of restaurants and shopping. We would definitely come back.Guest review byAShleyUnited States - 8.0

What a cute little town that made it easy for us when we needed to leave Maui to head to the airport at the tail end of our trip. We liked this location if you decide to do Road to Hana or the summit of Haleakala. This made it so much easier to get on the road early.Guest review byHanhUnited States - 10.0

The view from the property was OK. There was a cruise ship docked across the way and several garage type businesses across the street. No real ocean view. The plants are beautiful and it's fun to see the chickens and roosters running around every where you go.Guest review byJanet - 8.0

Lovely location with good restaurants and a relaxed vibe. Very kid-friendly with keiki menus in all restaurants, and most will accommodate special request. Location is just really, really gorgeous. It is worth driving to Hanalei up north for a day since there is an amazing beach there.Guest review byPatriciaUnited States
