Fabulous stay, great location and everyone super nice! We took trips and the staff/owners couldn't have been nicer. The image is from our Whale Shark excursion, I love it! Such a moody day but we reached and found these beautiful, gentle sea giants. 🤍🖤🤍

Located in a quiet area next to the beach this small place to stay is a hidden gem. Each room is its own little bungalow, with high ceilings, AC and fan, big glass doors and a covered verandah looking over the sea, and good quality bathroom with plenty of hot water for shower. Beautifully maintained flower-edged sandy paths leading to the central restaurant/bar area with nearby places to lie on sheltered swinging beds and the beach. Simple yet filling breakfast consisting of served fruit, juice, eggs, toast and pancake. Lunch and dinner could be ordered with choice of fresh grilled seafood, chicken, beef, with salad/vegetables and small fruit-based desert. The grilled fish was excellent, but not always available depending on the local catches of the day. Friendly and helpful staff with many interesting activities to do when not relaxing! Organised reef snorkeling, BBQ lunch on a sandbar, and whale sharks.

The staff and dedication to detail was outstanding. The place is very well taken care of and the food was excellent. We got upgraded to the newly built rooms. The area was quiet and the balcony was overlooking the sea. We felt like we were in paradise!! They made a big effort to make it eco friendly, which we loved. We will definitely go back! The pics don’t show just how lovely this hotel is…the gardens are beautiful, rooms are bright and spacious, huge bed, fridge etc all set around the pool & garden. Also ate lunch / dinner every day and the food is excellent / octopus in coconut sauce was a fave! and it’s a good varied menu so plenty of choice. WiFi and power both consistent, wifi reached the rooms, staff are great. Literally 3mins drive from airport…very good option if staying this side of the island. Highly recommended!

The location is perfect, the staff is great. The diving center is right there and they offer multiple excursions, very comfortable. The meals provided at lunch and dinner were very good. Highly recommended!

Hassan is a great host, kind and helpful; the room il small and cozy and the garden is really nice and comfortable. It is a very beautiful place to spend relaxing days. The restaurant is amazing! Best food on the island.

The service and staff were wonderful, very attentive and helpful. Free bikes so we could go into Utende which is 10 minutes away. Very nice gardens and grounds. Comfortable and nicely decorated rooms. Great food and juices. Only 2 rooms so feels boutique.

Please note that my review refers to Butiama Beach Lodge! A slight misunderstanding meant that we had booked Butiama Bustani but were taken to Butiama Beach upon pickup from the airport. Once there (at Butiama Beach) and once we realised we were at the 'wrong' hotel, instead of transferring to Butiama Bustani were we had actually booked, we asked if we could pay the supplement and stay at Butiama Beach, which we did (luckily they had a room available). The Butiama Beach Lodge is a truly wonderful and romantic place for a relaxing holiday. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, the rooms are very comfortable (with a hammock on the veranda that I could have stayed in forever was it not for all the other nice things one wanted to see and do at the lodge), the sunsets over the ocean are gorgeous, and there are several activities that one can easily join thanks to the hotel's own activity manager. As it wasn't the right season for the whale sharks, we joined a boat going out to watch humpback whales. The sea was quite rough, no possibility to keep the camera out for all the water splashing in, but seeing the whales was a great experience!
