- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 198 reviewsGreat little resort less than 10 minutes walk from the pier. You don't get disturbed though as any boats are quiet and don't come along very often. The place is great! Right on the beach you can watch sunrise from your own private terrace although we opted to walk down the steps onto the beach where there are some seats/hammocks dotted around. The room itself was clean, bed was super comfy and we had some quality sleep with the sound of the waves to sooth us. Was nice to have a good sized room with a terrace to dry our clothes. The first day we walked to some restaurants about 20 minutes away but decided to rent a motorbike as other beaches and restaurants are usually a 5-10 minute drive. The resort serve reasonably priced food both western and Thai (just in the morning and evening), with an idyllic view. When we left they also helped take our bags to the pier and I even forgot an item of clothing which they very kindly put on a boat to Koh Kood so I could collect it on the other side. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom
- From US$121.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 800 reviewsSuch a wonderful place, the Hotel has the most beautiful beach on the island. The staff is incredibly good. I loved them. Beautiful, large rooms with incredible sea views. The hotel services were excellent. Great service, great breakfast and excellent cuisine. I think this is the first hotel that has free kayak, paddle board rentals. A surprise for me was also the tee/coffee time every afternoon where you could refresh yourself. You can rent a stylish scooter directly at the reception for a fee of 300bth per day, which is great. I have been traveling to Thailand for many years, but this was one of the best stays for me. A small minus during our stay were some ill-mannered noisy guests who did not respect the peace of the night and, for my taste, many families with babies. Maybe the hotel could consider closing the part where the pool is in the evening.Guest review byMartinSlovakia

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 573 reviewsThe staff at the resort are truly the best and most friendly I've ever encountered! I absolutely loved everything about my stay there – from the clean and beautiful rooms to the delicious breakfast and amazing restaurant food. The beach was fantastic, and the complimentary hour of kayak rental each day was a wonderful addition. We took advantage of it to kayak to the closest island, and it was an amazing experience.Guest review byLianUnited States
- From US$55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 226 reviewsCosy authentic rooms where you can listen to waves as you sleep. Never feels crowded and staff take care to serve you very good Thai food. Don't worry to be further away from the main walking street, it's a very beautiful island to take a short ride and find better beaches for swimming.Guest review byRebeccaThailand

Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. Best I had ever seen.Guest review byMarty TUnited Kingdom - 10.0

After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Five nights would be adequate, unless you're a snorkeling/diving addict, then maybe more.Guest review byFredUnited States - 8.0

Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great. If you want more action, just take the ferry to Ko Chang (once a day).Guest review byTyeJ_travelGermany
