- From £169.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 319 reviewsMy friend and I stayed in the very cozy cabin “Friggan”,. Which meant we had our own bathroom / toilet and private small terras. The excellent breakfast buffet was served in the dining / living area of the main building. Our host showed us the guest rooms upstairs( 5 if I’m not mistaken ): they look cozy and comfortable as well. Guests staying there share 2 bathrooms. This is a perfect B&B setup. This is a great place and the central location makes it easy to wander around town. During summer when you can enjoy the decent size terras it will be an even more pleasant place to stay. I can also highly recommend a visit to the Sandhamn Värdshus for a drink, lunch or dinner. Good food, friendly staff in an “good old cozy pub setting”. And very well done both Missions Huset and Sandhamn Värdshus, they are open all year round. Last but not least, our host was the most friendly, professional lady you can wish for. Fabulous!!Guest review byChristineAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,856 reviewsSaltsjöbaden is beautifully located in the Stockholm archipelago and the hotel is a fantastic old building by the sea. Breakfast was truly good, the beds comfortable and the view out to the sea wonderful as promised. Ideally, there is a nostalgic train connecting the city centre to the outskirts but unfortunately, the track is under intensive reconstruction. The bus connection is less romantic but at least you get where you need to. The hotel has construction work going on, as well, but, possibly due to the weekend, we didn't experience any discomfort. The hallways showed some clear signs of construction work but the staff did their best to mask that.Guest review byVidalFinland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 519 reviewsThe staff are terrific - everyone speaks better English than we do. The spa is the main reason to go and it does not disappoint The grounds are lovely - plenty of good walks - Nynashamn is maybe 25 mins walk with its lovely bars and restaurants Our room was more functional than comfy but for the money it was perfectly goodGuest review byRichardUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 45 reviewswe had rented a Cottage near the mainhouse. Very quiet, only short walking distance to the restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice walkways on the island and a small beach. Easy to spend a couple of relaxing days. Ferries go to the neighbouring Islands regularly, shopping only possible in Gräddö.Guest review byDirkGermany

We loved swimming in the sea.
We loved swimming in the sea. A bit cold (19C) doesn't matter as you can warm up in the the lovely saunas and the warm pool. It's got an awesome Stockholm archipelago feeling and view, and even a family of merganser birds (skrake). We loved the gym and the restaurant was nice. Great breakfast too!Guest review byHultmanSweden - 10.0
This was an absolutely beautiful place.
This was an absolutely beautiful place. Great value for money, insanely good food? Idk I wasn't expecting swedish food to be so good, the nightly barbecue was absolutely a highlight. Also kayaking, ice cream, hiking drinks, this place has everything.Guest review byKatieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Cute little cottage with perfect amount of space for a family of four to stay for a weekend. Well stocked kitchen, great outdoor space for playing. Big drawback was lack of blackout blinds on the windows so putting kids to bed before the sun went down (which is pretty late in summer) was difficult.Guest review byAubrey - 10.0

Vaxholm is the gateway to the Stockholm archipelago, so visiting other islands via ferry is easy. Vaxholm itself is very interesting and worth at least a couple days. If you plan on island hopping (day trips from Vaxholm), then figure an additional day per island. If you don't have time to day trip, then definitely take a boat tour to just get a feel for this gorgeous archipelago. It's stunning.Guest review byDeniseFrance - 10.0

Sahdhamn is a beautiful island at the edge of the archipelago, so please note it can get a bit windy since there are very few islands protecting it from the sea. There are trails criss-crossing the island, so it’s easy to hike around and since it’s not very big there is no risk for getting lost. During the winter most restaurants and shops are closed, but Sandhamn Seglarhotell is open and they have delicious food. The island is transformed during the summer months with lots of people, party and a much wider range of restaurants to choose from. So, depending on what you are after, choose the season to visit Sandhamn carefully. ;-)Guest review bySandraSweden - 10.0

Loved Saltsjobaden. Faurly small, Calm, peaceful. We had several different walks around the Peninsula areas. Very scenic. Liked that we found 3 good places to eat and drink, the Grand Hotel, the Var Gard Hiotel and Holmens bar bistro on the harbour Would like to come back and stay a few days longer forvacrelaxjng break.Guest review byTravel 100United Kingdom - 6.0

Varmdo is a district of 10 000 islands with few towns or villages to wander around or give a sense of place and culture. It has beautiful scenery, lakes, inlets, beaches, woods and farms which made it ideal for hiking and it would have been great for cycling as well as none of the inclines were too steep or too long. There are some beautiful nature reserves such as Bjorno and Sandarna which make the amazing bistro Bjorkvik a good place to pop in for food and drink. The boat services are generally good, but it's not easy to locate information about what is running and when - even Google struggled to find where the information was hidden and repeatedly gave best guesses! If you want to explore quaint villages, pop into shops, trip over a cute cafe for a snack or engage with locals, then Varmdo is not the place for you. If you want to explore nature, hardly see a soul, wild swim, trek through forests past ancient burial mounds and occasionally see people fishing or sailing in the lakes, then add the district to your plans.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Vaxholm is great place to base yourself for hopping out to the more remote parts of the archipelago, as many of the ferries from Stockholm stop here before fanning out into the islands. There is a small range of cafes and restaurants, and the Thai Restaurant is particulalry good value and very friendly. The backstreets are well worth an explore, and it is only a short walk south over the bridge to the nature reserve. When the weather is good, it is simply stunning. We loved the Castle, too.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
