The location was convenient, it was really close to the railway station. The bed was really comfortable for sleeping. The quality of the breakfast was amazing. The door handle was broken when i was in the room, but the staff fixed it once they got informed.

The location of this hotel is spectacular, right between the historical River Douro and River Bestança, close to the incredible N-222 road. Had an amazing view from my room during my stay. As it was off season, the hotel was pretty empty, which was not a problem as I was able to get great breakfast and dinner in the property. There's free parking right next to the hotel. There are many small towns nearby to get supplies if needed and great opportunities for hiking and exploring.

Fantastic location, hosts, breakfast. Very comfortable beds and large spacious room. Had a heat pump and very warm with great views. Parking easy outside the guest house. Great with a baby from high chair, toys, considered at meals (baby friendly options), and great cot with linen. Highly recommend adding on the dinner, was exceptional. Hosts are fantastic with lots of recommendations and very friendly. Our baby loved playing at the guest house with them. Perfect stay and can’t recommend enough.

We had great conact with the host Ana before arrival to arange check-in. She did everything to let us feel comfortable. Great room and bathroom, very well equiped and styled with good taste. This was one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a river view room which provided a spectacular view of the Duro. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony The staff was very friendly and helpful Patricia and Rafela made great suggestions for touring Quintas and even made reservations for us at these places. Paulo gave great recommendations for dinner and was very helpful Parking was on the property and free. The breakfast had many choices and tables provided a view of the river We would definitely stay here again

Amazing place, this was the highlight of our trip in Portugal. The host was the best. He helped us book a local wine tour and gave us very good recommendations for everything that we needed. We had the most wonderful suite for our 3 night stay - spacious and beautifully furnished with lots of little extras. And a magnificent view of the Douro River from our room and private, tree shaded patio with a little pool to cool off in. Great jumping off point for Douro River and wineries. Pleasant train ride to get there from Porto. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance around the town and boat trips from the pier. Short train ride to next town and winery tours.

Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool. The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

Quaint little town on the Doura Valley. It's built on a fairly steep hill, so bring your walking shoes! Good choice of restaurants (although check opening times). Lots of river based attractions (cruises) along with wine (port) tasting. If you don't like port or watery things avoid.

Vila Real is a nice town with all factilities available, some nice and affordabled places to eat or have a drink. It is within 30 minutes of driving from the Douro valley. A great ride will bring you in the wineries over there. Be prepared that wine tasting in the Douro valley is overpriced.

Next time we visit this area, we will get the train from Porto and then do a car hire in the location. Both to enjoy the train journey and also to avoid adjusting to the very narrow roads after a long journey to the area.

Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

Beautiful place by the Douro river.

Beautiful place by the Douro river. But it is a bit far from other attractions and villages. Also no supermarket or restaurants nearby. You have to take the train or car to get there. But if you want a special experience in the beautiful Douro valley, this is the place.

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.

The hotel is situated in a quiet spot which suited us perfectly as we wanted to chill. There’s nothing much to do in the area. If you’re looking for boat trips, wine tours etc it might be better to stay further up river in Pinhao or Porto.

This is a great place to spend the best time in the Douro Valley and enjoy the surroundings with the best views, terrace vineyards and wineries. The outdoor pool attracts you even more, especially if you have a teenager who wants to spend time around the pool / beach.
