There is a snorkeling spot nearby but I was happy to see rays and sharks at the beach in front of the hotel.

GreeceWe knew this hotel would be nice from the pictures we saw online but in reality is even better and nicer. The location has some amazing views and it is in a private neighbourhood. Our room was called Reva and it had a nice terrace with a minibar, microwave, fridge and even a blender which was so useful for our morning fresh pineapple juices. the hotel has an impressive garden, terrace and beach facing the lagoon. Also, it is very well maintained and has an exquisite decor. Eileen, the lady who runs the hotel is lovely and always looking after the guests. she sells very good quality products at the reception. We will come back ome day and we highly recommend this hotel :). thank you Eileen.

We had our own spacious 1-bedroom bungalow with kitchen ans living room facing one of the most beautiful beach in Moorea. The location is pretty awesome!
We loved the fact that we could just borrow kayaks and paddles to go and explore the lagoon - it’s easy to go to the Tipaniers beach where the stingrays and sharks can be seen.

We had a lagoon facing bungalow which meant we could leave our sliding door open at night to hear the ocean and feel a breeze. The mosquito net provided worked wonders, and added to a restful sleep. We knew facilities were limited and are avid campers so had basic crockery, utensils and a hydroboil (portable mini gas stove) which we used to make coffee and cook some meals. The fridge and freezer provided enabled us to shop once and keep everything we needed cold and fresh. The snorkling off the property was spectacular and probably our preferred amongst the other adjacent beaches. The outdoor shower was great too! We saw dolphins, sharks, a stingray and heaps of fish from our little deck while drinking coffee in the mornings and enjoyed even the rainy days in the calm, reading books and staring at the landscape.Guest review byvan der MerweNew Zealand

The restaurant Chez Irene's up the road was great and only a 5 minute walk. What we wish we knew: there was a full equipped kitchen but the shops on the island are really expensive. We could have came with more from the main island supermarket and fruit market to make the most of it. There is a nespresso machine so bring pods, laundry but no powder, dishwasher but no soap! If you have some at home, just put a few capsules in your luggage. There were also lots of games, snorkel masks and tennis racquets to borrow from reception. The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. Everything was super clean and well cared for. We rented E-bikes and had a wonderful afternoon exploring the island by ourselves. Taking a taxi to other places for meals was no problem just be certain they are open that day. The island is very quiet in the evenings. I loved the location and the serenity of it, I loved to sit on the benches on the bay and read. Allo pizza food amazing. You need a car here in order to get to the shops and beaches, but I knew this when I booked and was happy. Few nice places in walking distance and supermarket about 15 min walk. This place is great value, and meant the money I saved I spent on car and excursions. Beautiful rustic setting, close to gorgeous beaches, friendly people. Great if you like water sports - kayak, jetski, snorkeling, diving, swimming, just lounging in the clear warm water! You will need a rental car to get around no matter where you stay - no uber. You can drive around the whole island in about an hour. I heartily do recommend Tema'e Beach House. Nick, the owner, is a really nice and attentive guy - looks after his guests as well as the premacy itself & keeps it clean & proper (mind you: not always an easy task in tropical surroundings!). And really helpful are his pick-ups at the ferry port. Those arriving by plane don't have to worry anyway: airport is only a 300(!) metres walk away. What's a superb experience: sitting together with the other guests from all over the world & sometimes having in-depth discussions. On top of it, wonderful Tema'e beach is in walking distance as well (approximately 15 minutes) - be aware of the strong current of the sea, though! For the adventurous types: take an astounding bike ride around Mo'orea (60 km, approx 3-5 hrs ride, depending on personal fitness) - the bike is working now, we repaired it :-))). As for lagoon tours: contact Moorea Miti Tours, excellent! Of course, there have to be (especially in-house) rules (shoes, eating, waste and so on). The idea of the Te Orange Hau "lodge" is lovely which is why...
The idea of the Te Orange Hau "lodge" is lovely which is why I booked it. But it does not deliver. It was a sham of what was represented on the website. We stayed in the back one bedroom cottage with the bedroom up some narrow stairs with no light at night. The place was dirty with moldy shower curtain shower. In the morning I wakened to rat poo next to my toothbrush. The bathroom is literally "under the stairs". The kitchenette is hardly that. There was an unworkable electric hot plate, a tiny fridge and we absolutely could not "prepare meals" in that kitchen. Good restaurants are at least 20-25 minutes away from Affareaitu. There are 2 cottages in front. I do not know what they are like but the website combines the best pictures of all of them and presents them as the cottage they are offering. This is dishonest. Moorea is a difficult place to find another place to stay when you are under the gun. Luckily we were able to find something else and only had to stay there for 2 miserable nights. Amazing location right on the beach.
Amazing location right on the beach. Perfect size bungalow for our 2 families, 7 total people. People gather at the beach and dock in front of the house because it is the best place to watch sunrise/ sunset. Huge trees in front of the house provide shade. Scubapiti dive center right next door, run by Henry, an excellent guide. Dive boats leave from the dock in front of the house. We also used the tennis court on the property and it was nice. If you are looking for a beach house for a dive vacation, this is the one. Decor is quaint, and simple-- house is rustic rather than modern or stylish. 2 kayaks on site which we used a lot.
