NetherlandsWe were at several resorts and this location sits on probably the best spot opposite the mountain. It’s modern, smart designed, with clean and light bungalows, ours with plungepool. The staff, both young French and Tahitian were enthousiastic, interested and competent. The layout of the resort is efficient and makes best use of the view. Some of the cocktails of their own design were delicious and the food allowed for both fine dining or a cheeseburger. Frankly, it was like one imagines paradise could be. It’s a long way from Amsterdam or Paris, but worth the miles. The weather this November was very sunny.

New ZealandHaving read almost ALL other reviews before we booked, we think a lot of people are projecting 5-star expectations on this 3-star accommodation. In reality... The staff were awesome - kind and helpful, from the cleaners to the receptionists to the restaurant and bar staff. The restaurant was delicious and fairly priced in comparison with other options on the island. Breakfast was good to great, but since it was inclusive with the price of the accom, we rate it as great. Excellent location, close to a store and other eateries. Rental bikes, rental kayaks, and Snorkel gear on-site. The lady from the resort who helps you book tours and bikes etc is very helpful - she takes her time, and no ask is too much. The beach across the road is an extremely easy walk across from the rooms - and for that short walk you get a private, not-very-populated beach as well as the accommodation restaurant, pool, snooker tables and ping pong. The beach is picturesque, tidy. Tje rooms - perfectly clean, cool, nothing alive inside except for you (i.e. NO Mosquitos, Lizards). What more could you ask for, really? We'll happily return. Cook IslandsNice greeting on arrival with a flower ei by Maheata. We were late arriving due to bird strike on our flight over. We had to return to Papeete, then changed aircraft. By the time we arrived, it was around 8pm & she was still waiting for us. Pool is wonderful, rooms clean, aircon & wifi is great, location easy to find & bonus being close to Borabora Yacht Club with nice tasty meals served there. We hired a car via Avis to get around & explore the island. We enjoyed our stay here.

Nir is a modern-day Gaudi - his vision and creativity have created something so outside the norm that it’s nearly impossible to describe it in a way that does it justice - you just have to experience it. This is not a place for tourists that like international hotel chains and are not really interested in the culture and heritage of the place they’re visiting. However, if you want to experience a living work of art, surrounded by historic artefacts, carvings and tikis collected and created over a lifetime….if you want to shower outside in privacy but with water flowing from the hands of a female statue…..if you want to stay in a luxurious bungalow in the middle of lush forest with stupendous views - then you should go and stay at Rohotu Fare. The place is designed in the most beautiful way, with little details at every corner, with paintings, old vases and statues. The amount of relaxation you receive in this place is incredible. The host is very friendly and helpful, contributing to the best experience in terms of hospitality. You basically have your own private island and your own private beach with all the comfort of a high end hotel. While some people might be a little concerned with mosquitos, please note that a reasonable quality repeller will solve this for you. We tried the very best in Bora Bora, including the high end resorts with water bungalows. I can say that without our experience at Fare Ahuna, our trip to Bora Bora would have been so much less complete. It’s spacious, huge bed, clean bathroom and even serviced daily if required. Tea/coffee making amenities and fridge was a bonus! Straight access to the water & jumping deck next to the bungalow. The view is incredible and it’s such a treat to enjoy the sunsets straight from your terrace. Short walking distance to the port and city with all amenities and shops. Bora Bora is a slice of paradise. We rented a scooter for a day and saw the whole island. What was best was Rudolph at H2O was an amazing tour guide. Well worth the money. Our favourite place was on the lagoon. We hired a pontoon boat and spent a day on the water, one of the best experiences was snorkelling, swimming and relaxing. It was great. Lots of different fish, coral gardens and many sea life. Water was crystal clear and vibrantly blues and greens. Views were endless. Swam at Matira Beach. Wish I could go back there.
