Literally this is an oasis of tranquility after visiting the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.
A beautiful, garden setting on the north side of Franz Josef.
We sat out on the decking overlooking the pond late afternoon listening to birdsong.
The rooms were amazing, spacious, well planned with a huge bed and large bathroom.
We paid for continental breakfast and were very happy the selection.

Kate was super helpful and was available to offer us suggestions for the area and about the property. She also ran very reasonably priced group yoga classes that my family loved attending. The villa we rented was spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped with kitchen equipment and lovely linen, and although it doesn’t have a television, we played a number of new, different games as a family of 5 adults. Love everything here! Was welcomed by a friendly receptionist during check in. Our room was being upgraded as well! The room is quite equipped will all the facilities needed for our short stay. There's animals like poney and alpaca around which makes our stay memorable.

The glacier area is a wonderful place to visit. The weather can be unpredictable so we recommend booking your activities for first thing in the morning, the weather tends to get worse throughout the day.

Also did the Hokitika gorge.
Well worth the extra distance you have to drive.
Would definitely recommend the Kaniere WaterRace Walkway.
Hokitika is really easy to get around.

I loved how time stood still. very relaxing, a beautiful natural environment with clean crisp air. Friendly locals. Betty Janes was a great place for dinner definitely try the Deep sea orange roughy. Friendly obliging staff.

We didn’t go into the town of Haast, but were just outside, on the road to Jackson Bay. After the crowds and bustle of other towns, Haast Beach was a welcome change. If you like expansive, empty beaches, with great walkability and rock collecting, this is the experience for you.

The suspension bridge over the Hokitika gorge hike was most impressive. While we didn’t make it all the way down to the 2nd bridge (which was apparently closed for repairs) we were happy with the opportunity to still across the first bridge and get some great pics.
The Tree Top walk was rather —meh— not sure it was worth the cost of admission; my sister was seriously freaked out by the heights of the walkway so she didn’t enjoy it too much. However, the cafe there is quite good!

Beautiful scenic retreat, with waterfall and true NZ country vibe. Unfortunately, I saw the host yelling at a guest who arrived at night, for asking where the kitchen was located. I felt surprised, because the host was polite to me. I would still recommend that you stay here, but maybe just read the provided map if you're arriving at night!

The lake is worth a visit as is the beach,

So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. I will ensure that we spend more time there on our next visit. Highlight was Scenic Helicopter trip to the Glacier flying with Ken from Heliservices. NZ. Make sure you finish off your day with a private soak at Waiho Hot Tubs.

Best part is the beach, driftwood is amazing. It's often wet so take suitable clothing and maybe gumboots. Stumpers is a great place to eat . Shops don't seem to be open on a Sunday which was disappointing.
