The home made biscuits were next level delicious and the bath and shower bombs gorgeous. The bathtub on the deck was sensational. The ducks, swans and other birds entertaining to watch and feed. Soooo relaxing and shielded from the outside world. Loved, loved, loved the sustainable practices at this accommodation.

Not much to do in Oamaru, will recommend visiting the quaint museums, Oamaru heritage museum (pay/donate as you wish) and steampunk museum (NZD$15/pax). both were interactive and we enjoyed it with the helpful stuff. the day was a cloudy and rainy so we opted out of visiting the penguins - they have a live youtube stream of the penguins coming home which we watch. We did visit the penguins tour during the day, which was open to public and saw some fur seals relaxing. To watch the penguins coming home, it's NZD$45 per pax, which we thought was a little expensive. + the weather being bad, we decided to watch them online instead.Guest review byVerenaSingapore - 10.0

I liked exploring the river and would have fished if we had stayed. Food at the local pub was good, we didn't try the steaks. There are lots of families who go to Kurow camping for the water activities in the lakes. There is a newish wetland to explore, and others like to cycle the area. How tidy people's property's. Super friendly people. Good food. Lovely works to the beach. Four square store well stocked, and easy to get around.
