Good base for exploring the North Canterbury forest trails, as a short drive away. Sheffield Pie shop was popular. Quiet road was a bonus. Friendly locals in the shops, very chatty. Useful supermarket in village.Guest review bySharonNew Zealand - 8.0

Easy to get to Christchurch and other surrounding towns of Kaiapoi and Rangiora. Some good eating establishments in Pegasus and surrounding areas with good variety. Cocoa Blacks and the School Collective great for breakfast/lunch. The Good Home at Pegasus and Five Stags in Rangiora good for evening meal. A number of golf courses nearby at Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Amberley and Pegasus and only a short drive to more courses in Christchurch.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The district is easy to travel in, with several villages offering shopping, food and drink plus a petrol Station. Some great cafes and small restaurants in each village. It is a district close to Christchurch and is a great option for a country stay.Guest review byPhillipNew Zealand - 8.0

Great area, very dry an warm in summer, also reasonably busy area but has plenty of great options, great place for familys and pet Friendly areas are very accommodating and welcoming, worth staying the extra day to explore around the area and enjoy what the area has to offer. We stayed at the rangiora eco holiday park with our dogs, it was really good, affordable and comfortable. Very easy area to navigate around and plentiful great food choices for those vaxed and non vaxed.Guest review byWillow - 8.0

This is a great location for somewhere to stay if leaving Christchurch in the morning or if having arrived in Christchurch in the evening, but not wanting to stay in the city itself. It's about 15km out. Not a lot of eating choices in town - I couldn't eat at the only hotel because every table was in use and/or reserved (on a Wednesday evening) so had to go to the little strip of various takeaway places opposite, where there was plenty of choiceGuest review byMichaelAustralia - 10.0

Oxford is a pleasant wee country town with one main street and very friendly locals. The dinner at the pub was what you expect from a country pub and the pies at the Sheffield Bakery are another level!! The area is rich with heritage sites and lovely gardens.Guest review byAlastairNew Zealand - 8.0
