The house was unique and beautiful, and the beds were very comfy. We were so grateful to the hosts who organised a firepit out under the stars for us at our request and the breakfast was delicious. The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.Guest review byVickiNew Zealand - 10.0

Great little country town in a good location, close enough to the both Auckland and Hamilton cities but far away enough for peace and quiet. A town with some great eating options of cafes and restaurants along with local tourism facilities.Guest review byPeteAustralia - 8.0

This house was wonderfully built by the owner in a unique timber style and is very comfortable for a total of 10 guests. The interior and exterior are arranged to gather all the guests on the several tables put at their disposal. The garden is heaven and properly maintained. It’s quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend this houseGuest review byRICHARDFrance - 10.0

It was a great place to relax away from people and have time to spend walking amongst the trees, admiring the different flowers and the artworks that are installed throughout the grounds. It was lovely to enjoy and appreciate all of the hard work that has been completed on this property. Turning an old quarry into a haven for wildlife, nature and art and give children and adults alike and great experience.Guest review byEverest - 10.0
Matamata was a complete surprise.
Matamata was a complete surprise. We ate at 4 different restaurants and each place had friendly staff and good selections on the menus. The information centre staff were wonderful and very helpful. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be returning to MatamataGuest review byGlendaNew Zealand - 10.0
It is a shame we don't get to Te Aroha much.
It is a shame we don't get to Te Aroha much. We use to visit when we were children and it has not changed one bit. I'm talking 45 years ago. I find Te Aroha quiet and it is such a pretty town. We don't stay long to enjoy the activities but we did eat at the local Pub/Restaurant just across from our Motel and they do a great Lamb Shank. Apologies, can't remember the Pub. The Te Aroha Motel is the best.Guest review byPetrinaNew Zealand - 8.0
