- From £93.73 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsIt was 200 meters from Highway one and close to the Dutch Molen restaurant and Foxtons fish and chip shop, both of them excellent. We took our fish and chips down to Foxton beach and watched the sun set. Our main like was our lovely hosts Leslie and Psul who wanted to make sure everything was satisfactory, which it was.Guest review byBruceUnited Kingdom

Friendly, with lots of eating places, so varied food available. Lots of play areas for kids. At Cobb & Co, I booked a group booking for 25 guests on Sunday afternoon and was very pleased with everything there. The food was good as well as the friendly staff.Guest review byPhilipNew Zealand - 10.0

Really nice beach - soft sand so is easy on feet not used to being bare! Due to mobility issues, I found it easier to drive to the main carpark by the surf lifesaver building where it's flat walking to the water. There are many little access tracks but need a degree of agility to negotiate. The town is lovely - highly recommend "Mr Grumpy's" takeaways for dinner. It is VERY popular though so order by phone & they will let you know how long it will take. you'll avoid a long wait at busy times that way! Also really loved the Windmill. There's a delightful cafe, a Dutch shop (delicious cheeses, the flours they mill onsite & souvenirs) & you can visit the working windmill to watch how it operates.Guest review byKarinNew Zealand - 10.0

Beautiful accommodation, outside area with great outdoor furniture. Spa pool was amazing and stunning to sit out there and star gaze. Lots of utensils and could have invited a couple more for a BBQ. Just down the road was an eatery and bar. Very friendly and a live band. All in all just too short a time. Beach out passed the sand dunes.Guest review byAmiria ArapereNew Zealand - 8.0

Levin is a service town rather than a holiday destination but it provided a pleasant, close to home place for a minibreak for me. Cobb and Co good for meals. Beaches reasonably close. Need own transport.Guest review byBrendaNew Zealand - 6.0

The estuary and Beach are excellent, good walking and bird life. Only downside is total lack of a decent place to have dinner. Mr Grumpys carry out fish and chip shop was the best on offer. It was recommended that we go to the yacht club which is well located. The woman behind the bar was hostile and bad mannered. The food was truly awful, it was very busy with locals but they must go for the company and cheap burgers as there was nothing else to recommend it.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved the close vicinity to the Dutch Museum, windmill shop and restaurant. It really made us proud of our heritage and we explored our culture agan. Foxton beach is a nice small community. Do go an see an amazing garden near a take away or cafe. Stunning, take your camera.Guest review byMariaNew Zealand - 10.0

A great place to get away from it all, but with a handy range of small shops (and a cafe, and a restaurant) so you don't have to worry if you forget anything. The beach is great, you can walk a long way and it's safe enough to swim (although it was too late in the season for us). If you want to walk in the bush the Tararua's are not too far away. Levin has more shops, and you're not far from other towns (Foxton, Shannon) for a bit of variety. If you need heavy-duty shopping/supplies it's not far from the city of Palmerston North.Guest review byMargotNew Zealand - 10.0

Very respectful very clean nice and quiet I think I was the noisy one sorry to the owners 🙈 very close to everything so I highly recommend the Totara Lodge very much so I definately would go back there myself and stay longer in the same room if I'm able too 👍 Merry Xmas guys and a happy new year to you 🎄🤗Guest review byTarawa - 8.0
Interesting history.
Interesting history. Great new Wildlife Foxton Trust in main street offering guided tour of NZ’s less seen small creatures such as geckos, skinks, and Gallaxids. Excellent museum/library and walking trails along the Foxton River Loop. Trip to the Foxton Beach Estuary to visit Boating Club and view outlet of Manawatu River is worth the extra drive.Guest review byColinNew Zealand
