It was impeccably clean with quality products such as shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom. The extra touches of free tea and coffee plus fruit and nuts were very welcome. This was a last minute booking when we were caught with a snow storm and our car went into a ditch.
We managed to snag a holiday home for 2 nights in December 2024.
The home faces the sea and fjord , it was stunning even if it is only 3h of daylight.
Every holiday home is ideally placed to get the best view.
Kitchen is well equipped you can cook up anything there.
We appreciated the attentive and well mannered staff they were kind and never impatient with us.
Our heater tripped in the night and they came to repair it immediately on realising it - no direct communication with the concierge at the main hotel so we had to walk to the main hotel in the snow (we enjoyed the walk though - no cars and the landscape with cottages were beautiful anyway)
We built snow men at our private terrace and we had the entire large living space to ourselves. It was luxurious.
Tip: there is a professional (or family run - depending on how you look at it) husky ride facility called “Into Nature” just 5 minutes away. We went there , they were the absolute highlight activity of our entire Scandinavian trip. Quentin was a great host very informative and friendly. The dogs were well cared for and happy and obedient. The landscape they run the husky ride is out of a fairy tale - try them!

We had breakfast in the apartment and it was exceptional, cheese, meats, salmon, bread, juice, yogurt, oats etc
The location was remarkable, unable to capture its grandeur in a photograph. The weather changing frequently like magic, one minute fjord and mountains and then they'd all disappear behind a cloud and as quickly as it came, the cloud would clear and we'd have the beautiful view again. Also, many stars at night when weather permitted.

The hotel is wonderful. Rooms are very cozy, you can adjust your own temperature. Bathroom was specious. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast selection was spectacular, so many varieties from warm foods to tasty croissants and even selection of plant based milks. The location is perfect, away from the city, but within reach or some hiking options and of course the northern lights are clearly visible there.

The room was huge and immaculate. The view was outstanding. The plugpoints by the bed were helpful and the bathroom was very big and convenient.
The breakfast was decent. I am vegetarian and options are always less for me but others might probably love it a whole lot more. They gave me a kettle to use in the room.

This place really extended out expectations. Place was very clean, beds comfy, staff nice, competent and very helpful, and the salmon for breakfast... exceptional. I must say it was really pleasant stay in beautiful cozy city on fjords. We were able to rest between the hikes.

A great getaway from populated areas and into the nature with big windows looking at mountains and forest. Enjoyed the jacuzzi after a dip in the cold sea water. Suggest visiting by car so you can also go to the must-visit places listed in the property's guide for tourists.

Fantastic city, lots to do and see.
Fantastic city, lots to do and see. Nice restaurants but it’s expensive.
Prepare for the cold with layers, gloves, hat, scarf and get strap on grips for your shoes so you don’t slip on the ice while walking around.
Recommend a trip up the cable car after a walk across the bridge to see the cathedral. Recommend the Wandering Owl northern lights tour and going on a boat tour.
Great views from the harbour, stay around here if you can. Recommend the Seaview Suite Airbnb.

A gateway to other areas like Lofoten.
A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport.
And once you do... it can be magic.

Nice place for a short stay.
Nice place for a short stay. Without a car you run out of options quickly. Smaller hiking trips and ski tours possible in the valley. Northern lights possible when there is no midnight sun. No supermarket in the village.

Very picturesque island, two days is more than enough to explore it. Sunshine is a rarity. End of season mid August. Place for camper vans to park. One shop and one cafe. You can buy only beer in a shop, no alcohol. For a harder spirits you need to travel to Tromso. Bring your food if you can, shops sells very simple and not very good staff. More or less decent meal you can have in an arctic hotel, which is pricey and just ok, no more, choice is limited.

The price was too high for the poor accommodation we had during our stay in the lodge: the apartment we booked was not available at our arrive and they move us to a cabin with old furniture, that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned well, the terrace was partially occupied by old furniture. We had the impression to be in a location very good during the Summer time, but not yet ready to welcome customers in April-May: the apartment we booked should have been definitively more comfortable and with better spaces then the one the move us, considering the rate we paid for our stay! We will not recommend this accommodation to others!

The bus ride into town was a great way to see more of Tromso even though it was 30 minutes each way. I loved it.

Tromso is the best location for exploring the artics -...
Tromso is the best location for exploring the artics - Northern Lights and whales watching. Would recommend the RIB tours for up close and authentic experience of watching the amazing beautiful orcas and humpbacks over the big boats tours, both have their unique experiences.
Must do activity is definitely the Tromsobadet.

The city itself is not necessarily special or historic (though some bits are) but the area around the city has some great scenic walks and of course the outlook across the sea/bay is stunning at any time of year, but particularly in the blue hour of the winter days. Lots of buses run regularly to outlying areas and there are fast buses to the airport to connect with flight check-in times. Take a walk along Stien langs sjøen (path along the shore) to the Trondenes Historical Museum (great wee cafe there) and the Adolf cannon from WW2.

The cabin we stayed in was roomy, wonderfully provisioned, and exceptionally clean. The restaurant offers a full-selection breakfast buffet and a full-service dinner that includes a selection of regional fish deliciously prepared. The village is quaint and charming and has several local, short hikes that are walking distance from the hotel. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return someday to see the Northern Lights!

Sensational! Great Hotel.
Sensational! Great Hotel. Good location. 5mins from airport by car, bus, or taxi. Good transportation- Brilliant Bus Network. Main Capital was really nice, had everything! Food, culture, modern, historical, fashion, shops. Found people very friendly, whether in shops or general public. Sightseeing was brilliant and there was so much more that we didn’t even do. Something for everyone!
Definitely going to go back in the summertime just to see the contrast! And the Northern Lights made the Complete
