This is the most exquisite hotel I've been staying at :) The luxurious room with a balcony upon the jungle, the bathroom design, the charm of the room (fully equiped), the amazing private cenote is just like HEAVEN, the breakfast offer and the quality of the food, the DJ electro set next to the pool on the afternoon, not to forget the premiumness of the service and the top quality of the staff.. this stay was a DREAM :)

The stay at Casa tortugas had truly exceeded my expectation in various aspects. This boutique hotel is located right outside of the Xcaret Park. The driving time from this hotel to the park is around 5 minutes. My room was spacious and well decorated. All staffs were attentative and showed hospitality, friendliness, and care. We had chances to spot wild spider monkeys and even feed the monkeys with bananas provided by the hotel, which is the highlight of our stay.

A true little slice of paradise in the middle of the jungle! The hotel is perfectly located to explore the most beautiful cenotes in the area (some are even accessible on foot or by bike, which the hotel kindly provides). The room is super cozy and peaceful — waking up to the sound of birds in the morning is just magical. The two pools are stunning, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff and concierge service? Absolutely amazing! Friendly, helpful, and always making sure everything is perfect. We were lucky enough to celebrate a very special moment there, and they welcomed us with such kindness and made it possible in this incredible setting. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, recharge, and make the most of your vacation — this is it!

Could not recommend this place enough for a truly one of a kind experience. The grounds of the hotel are magnificent with stunning waters and amenities. The best thing about the hacienda is the little touches, water and coffee left all around the property as well as towels and even suncream. Paddle boards and kayaks available for anyone to use. Breakfast is fantastic and cooked fresh to order. Lunch and dinner fantastic also, the chefs cook excellent food. Gonzalo, the activities coordinator deserves a separate review entirely so we can fit all the positives in. His cave and bike tours are a must do for any guests staying, he is so enthusiastic and passionate about the area which made the activities even more enjoyable. Side note: some reviews complain about cost of taxis which is correct for the entire area, hence why myself and my husband chose to make use of the collectivos which are the local buses which run consistently from directly outside the property straight to tulum and to playa del carmen. They cost only 25 pesos for a journey per person and we never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for one to pass by.

My favourite hostel in Mexico and one of the bests I've ever been! The place is stunning, with a mix of modern and vintage design and a beautiful garden. A lot of amenitis are free: towel, shampoo and shower gel even bicycles to borrow! (Although some of them a bit rusty) and their free breakfast is awesome, probably better than a lot of cafè. All that said, the real plus of the place is the outstanding staff, especially Alejandra, Isac and Fernando were super sweet, went above and beyond their tasks; even invite me at the beach with them and drive me to the bus stop. Can't thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality

A PERFECT PLACE FOR US, in the middle of everything but absolutely quiet , we reserved the suite with the Jacuzzi and we enjoyed it too much. The owner told us the paintings and the murales in the bathrooms was made by an Argentinian Artist , the woman painted in the bathroom is incredible , it was like some in the bathroom all the time you get in, I don't know how to explain but definitely a nice thing, I've discovered at the end of my stay It is very difficult to describe this place, definitely something out of ordinary.

Service: I spent one night at Papaya Playa Project in a beautiful Casita with a rooftop pool, and it was truly unforgettable. There is something about this place that captures the authentic soul of Tulum. The sound of the waves, the scent of the jungle, and the warmth of the people blend perfectly to create an atmosphere that feels both wild and deeply peaceful. Watching the sunrise from my rooftop pool felt like witnessing the world come alive. The sea in front of me, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and the soft rhythm of nature all around me created a feeling of pure magic. What I loved most about Papaya Playa Project is its energy. It is not just a hotel; it is a place that makes you feel part of Tulum itself. Everything here feels genuine, earthy, and real. It is a space to disconnect from everything and reconnect with yourself. My stay was short but soul-stirring. I left feeling renewed, inspired, and with a piece of this beautiful place forever in my heart.

As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. My FAVORITE cenotes were at Sac Actun and Ecopark Kantun Chi. Sac Actun requires a guide, but it's not as expensive as some of the other places. The cenote is beautiful and they provide you with wetsuits (which helps a LOT with the cold) and goggles. It was a very cool experience. Ecopark Kantun Chi has 5 cenotes but we bought the entrance that allows you to go 4 of them without a guide. For us, this was perfect because we could spend as much time as we wanted at each spot and they were all so different and beautiful. I loved #3, which was an open sky cenote with a waterfall and #4, which was a really cool cave with spots where the sunlight streamed in from above. We got to see some lobsters there too. Also a very cool feature is that there are kayaks in several of the cenotes so you get to explore them that way as well. Another cool spot was Languna Yal Ku where we got to snorkel in calm water and see so many different types of fish. I highly recommend wearing clothing that covers your arms and legs since sunscreen isn't permitted and you are directly exposed to the sun the whole time. For meals, we enjoyed traveling to both Akumal Pueblo (for some simple and cheaper meals) and Akumal Playa on the other side of the road for some more variety.

    What a cool spot!

What a cool spot! We are definitely not the all inclusive resort kind of travelling family. So when we stumbled upon Puerto Adventuras, we were hapily impressed. There was so much to do within walking distance. There is a park, kids camps, beautiful beaches, swimming pools, amazing choice restaurants, and an overall really cool vibe. I liked it because although it felt like - yes this is definitely an international tourist destination - it also felt grounded and down to earth. In addition to the travellers who pass through, many people live and work in Puerto Adventuras giving it a really lovely family neighbourhood feel.

This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all night long drunk people scream in the hallways , our door was nock at 1-3 in the morning woke up our children age 2y, 6y, 8y. The staff were so helpless, unfriendly and rude. Every time we had to eat was so stressful cause the waiters will be so mad and we will ask for things like water they will take for ever to give to us. It was a buffe every time but water wasn’t available or even a spoon. They drop drinks next to ur table they didn’t clean it the whole breakfast we were there, i was so afraid any of us will fall down. Front Thea people never knew the answer. Overall we were so disappointed. It feel like a super cheap hotel, full of a lot of drunk people. I read bad reviews and didn’t payed attention but I wish I did. I’m not happy at all with this hotel experience and I’m not planing to eve go back. The ocean was the only thing was good about our trip.

Punta Allen seems to be a virgin place in Mexico. Not many tourists not many places like restaurants or shops. Its full of sargaso and at the moment properties cant deal with it and many of them are on the beach. But you can have nice excursions to see dolphins at the nature ,we took the fishers boat and went to see dolphins and turtles do some snorkel, kids loved it! But this place is far and the road is not good.
