The hotel was exceptionally clean, with housekeeping provided at least twice a day. The staff were incredibly hospitable and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay throughout. They also arranged our airport transfers both upon arrival and departure, which was a great convenience. Bed was comfortable, air conditioner worked well without noise. The location is just a 3-minute walk to Bikini Beach—and the hotel provides sunbeds upon request. I especially enjoyed the restaurant; the Asian dishes were a true culinary discovery, and the European cuisine was equally delicious.

Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a breathtaking view that made every moment special. The cuisine was outstanding—fresh, diverse, and incredibly flavorful. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always welcoming, making us feel right at home. The beaches were idyllic, with crystal-clear turquoise waters and stunning sunsets. We had an unforgettable week at Rihiveli Residence. The experience was simply superb! The staff was incredibly attentive and hospitable, always ready to assist with any of our requests. The room was spacious, with a stunning view of the sea, and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Overall, the experience was mixed. The positives included the cleanliness of the room and the convenient location of the hotel near the beach. We enjoyed excellent service at the hotel restaurant, where culinary masterpieces simply amazed the imagination. And how they celebrated my birthday, you have to see it to believe it. The accommodation was excellent, and as described. The room was a good size, very modern, and had a clean bathroom with an excellent shower. The breakfast was great with a good selection and great coffee/tea. They also had some really good options for dinner and a really great chef.The location was also decent as close to the ferry port. My favourite part of the hotel was the staff. The manager, Shaheen, and the team were fantastic! They were always helpful and cheerful and would be there to organise any trips (Whale Shark, Manta Ray's, etc) and would even come with you on the trip to make videos. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are staying on this island.

Amazing Stay at Sun Siyam – A Few Tweaks Could Make It Perfect My recent stay at Sun Siyam in the Maldives was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredibly warm and kind staff who made sure every moment of our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. Their hospitality was truly exceptional and made us feel like we were in paradise from day one. Our overwater villa was stunning, offering a spacious, luxurious space with breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoon. Having direct access to the water for swimming and snorkeling was a dream, and waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning was unforgettable. The villa’s design beautifully combined luxury and comfort, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The food at Sun Siyam was delicious, with plenty of fresh options that we thoroughly enjoyed. Every meal was a treat, and the beachfront dining experiences were incredibly special. However, we did notice that the menu was more Indian-oriented, which while flavorful, could benefit from a bit more international variety to cater to all tastes. Adding a wider range of global cuisine would make the dining experience even better. Despite that small suggestion, everything else was truly outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless, and the variety of activities – from water sports to spa treatments – kept us entertained and relaxed in equal measure. In summary, Sun Siyam is a slice of paradise, perfect for anyone looking for a luxurious and tranquil escape. With a slight adjustment to the food offerings, it would be absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful resort!

Mind blown away How can a post give this resort the proper review it deserves, I truly wonder but I’ll give it a shot so here we go. This was probably my wife and I 6th vacation spent at luxury resort across the Far East /Indian Ocean area, even the Mediterranean and hands down this is by far the BEST most memorable vacation we’ve experienced so far and credit goes entirely to the brilliant service we’ve received. Not only were the facilities and water villa we stayed at impeccable and beautiful but gosh the service we’ve received, the warmth of the staff, the attention to details, the fantastic tasty meals we’ve had - not a single food item we’ve consumed was below fantastic-. The attention and hospitality we’ve received from the resort resident manager Mr. Fernando was truly unparalleled. So friendly, professional and courteous we’ve decided to come back in 4 weeks! Shout out to Amir from the Fushi Cafe who made us feel so welcomed. We look forward to his lovely chats and seeing him again soon. LUX* South Ari Atoll Resort & Villas
This was my second stay at LUX and once again it was a truly special experience. We stayed in August, with wonderful weather, in a beautiful water villa overlooking the crystal-clear sea. The resort is enchanting: the island is large and well equipped, offering many facilities such as a gym, diving center, six restaurants and several bars. The international breakfast was excellent and served in two different restaurants. During our stay we dined almost every evening at Umami, the Japanese restaurant: outstanding food thanks to Chef Jester and impeccable service by Reehaan. I highly recommend trying it.

We spent an unforgettable vacation with the children. The food was great, the rooms clean, the staff great. We especially liked the layout of the house. We were on the first floor and the children on the second. Thanks for everything! I hope to visit this place again someday.

One day is plenty. You can walk to the main square and all the main sights in one day. Entry to mosques is limited to certain times of the day (1-2) hour window so plan accordingly. Food/drink is fairly pricey and allow for 10% service charge and 17% Tax on published prices. Most places price in USD but will convert to local currency (at the prevailing exchange rate).

Maafushi is, overall, a great place – the people are friendly and welcoming. The weak point is definitely the services. When it comes to hotels, don’t expect luxury. In my opinion, for what you actually get, it’s overpriced. One big plus is that Maafushi gives you more freedom. You’re not tied to a resort – you can move around, explore, go jogging if you want, and enjoy the island on your own terms. You can book trips easily, there’s stuff to do, and it doesn’t feel restrictive.

Hulhumale despite being busy like the rest of Male has an airy feel to it with lots of greenery - almost colonial. The East side is quiet for traffic although it's close to the seaplane flight paths - I didn't find that intrusive. The West side has the harbour with the ferry terminal and where the liveaboards anchor between trips. When I was there there had been a lot of recent building work so I would avoid staying there. Lots of options for buying fresh fruit and vegentables if you need and a range of places to eat at different price ranges.

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!

We LOVED Dhiffushi!
We LOVED Dhiffushi! A real taste of a local island, the thing that struck us was how quiet and peaceful it was. We wandered everywhere on foot and loved that the roads are all sand. We were there in monsoon season and experienced some storms but they were short and everyone just gets on with stuff. There was some rubbish washed up on the non-hotel beach areas but most hotels keep their areas spotless. Both bikini beaches were absolutely stunning. Would definitely recommend Dhiffushi as a real gem of a local island. As an added bonus, we could not believe how cheap everything was too!

Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach, without sunbeds and umbrellas, the palm trees lining the island will provide you with sufficient shade. At the end of the island there is a sandbank, which can be reached by walking, cycling or scooter through the tropical forest. There are several shops with groceries, souvenirs and restaurants on the island. There is a lot of accommodation in different places on the island with quality services. The local people are smiling and friendly. There is a hospital, a police station, the Maldivian office and mosques on the island. Waste from the island is taken to the forest, where it is burned in the afternoon, we only felt the smoke from the waste when there was a strong wind. You can get to the island from the airport by speedboat, the journey takes about two hours, if you suffer from nausea, I recommend taking anti-nausea medicine, you will definitely need it when the waves are bigger. There is a coral reef around the island, you can see many colorful fish, we were lucky to see a turtle and a small shark. There are resorts on the surrounding atolls, to which seaplanes fly daily. What we didn't like on the island is the massive construction of new accommodation facilities, I'm afraid that in a short time, there will be more tourists on the island than locals and the island will lose its authenticity and beauty.

We liked almost everything.
We liked almost everything. Our vacation was relaxing and beautiful. The beach was perfect, with soft almost white sand and warm, clear blue water. The bungalow was was really cozy with sun set view. Snorkeling we saw sharks, turtles, so many amazing small fishes. And they were almost near our place. We had wonderful neighbors and made new friendships.

The people that work there in the island are very genuine...
The people that work there in the island are very genuine and polite and helpful, always smiling. They make your time there very pleasant. Don’t forget to tip them. Jr and Anastasia from the club house coordinators are amazing and multi talented individuals. Don’t miss their daily sport activities by the pool.

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.
