- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 816 reviewsEverything was superlative. Top notch. You are welcomed by personal concierge, everything is explained. Instantly feel like royalty. Everybody smiles, everybody is ready to help you. The resort is in a beautiful garden with all the exotic trees full of singing birds. Spacious rooms. Wonderful view. Rooms are cleaned twice a day (thats maybe a bit too much, but it tells you about how much they care). We saw manager every morning greet his staff with smile and respect but also check if everything is perfect. Lots of activities for kids and adults, many water sports. And not to mention fantastic range of choice in couple of restaurants. The food was like in a fancy restaurant. We wanted to travel around, but there was so much to discover in the resort itself, we didnt have time for it. The resort was full but you still feel like there is enough privacy for yourself.Guest review byVladimirCzech Republic
- From € 177.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 781 reviewsWe had the most amazing stay at Outrigger! The property is so well equipped for families - 3 different pools, a fun slide for the kids, and a beautiful and relaxing beachfront. We loved that we could choose from the main buffet style restaurant or the lovely Edgewater restaurant for dinner, and enjoy delicious lunch at Le Bleu. There was also a wine bar which looked nice, but we didn’t end up going there. The main pool has a lovely semi separate shallow section where our son could splash around safely by our feet, which we loved. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a villa, which was so unexpected and so special. Such a stunning space!Guest review byLillianSouth Africa
- From € 105 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,188 reviewsIt is a delightful place. I had a room with a sea-view and terrace, extremely beautiful. Also the tours proposals (snorkeling and boat trip) were very professional and quite cheap (comparing with other places in Mauritius). Special thanks to reception staff - I had few hours after the check-out and before my flight, they proposed me to take shower after the snorkeling tour, very nice of them. The breakfast was also delicious and with nice view! There is public beach and couple of good local restaurants nearby also. This location is definitely suitable for slow and relaxing vacation!Guest review byKaterynaUkraine
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,005 reviewsWe had a memorable stay. The resort has a wonderful location with three seas surrounding it. The staff was extremely courteous and polite, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and satisfied. The resort facilities and infrastructure were great and plenty of activities were held through the day. We chose their all inclusive package and its completely worth it.Guest review byJIMIT RAJESHIndia
- From € 96.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 1,297 reviewsWe enjoyed our stay so much! Chant au vent is my preferred spot at Blue Bay since many years. It's a lovely guesthouse with extremely cordial employees. For us choosing this guesthouse is not about perfection, but about atmosphere and a gorgeous, still natural and unobstructed view. And you won't be disappointed in that respect!Guest review bySandraGermany

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nothing was lacking
Nothing was lacking The 2nd floor villa with a balcony view to the garden and sea was private with a superb vista it had a very well stocked kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Every attention to detail had been given with pottery and art it was aesthetically pleasing. provisions were easy to get and at short distance to obtain. what wasn’t evident from its description was its peace and privacy which for us gave the restorative and restful holiday we required.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for a day at the Shandri Beachcomber (bought a day pass) and the snorkeling from their beach was fantastic . Absolute amazing location but I wouldn't stay overnight there. Way too exensive for a dated resort and we weren't impressed by the quality of food and drink (it is an all inclusive resort) but you can't beat the location.Guest review byMariaAustralia - 10.0

Excellent location in an area that boasts greenery and nature at its best. Tamassa Bel Ombre is located next to two golf courses, a natural reserve and barely minutes away from other landmarks in Mauritius (south). Roads are safe - so it's easy to drive around but if you are after a complete relaxing holiday, venturing out of Tamassa is purely an extra then. The resort is fully equipped and offers a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, para-kiting in a well protected and clean bay.Guest review bySaidMalta - 8.0
Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront.
Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!Guest review byFrancoiseUnited States - 10.0

I came in with some reservation due to the wind that was considered to be a problem by other visitors. Some others were ranking the West coast over the East Coast (we were on the East Coast) but after visiting the entire island, we were very happy about our choice.Guest review byAlbrUnited States - 10.0

No ATM to draw cash.. most shops only deal with cash. Blue bay has a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to get to Mahebourg from where you can take a bus to any part off the Island. The Blue Bay Beach has absolutely clear and still water making it a wonderful experience just to laze in the WaterGuest review byVijendraSouth Africa - 10.0

I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great although we didn't use it. We stayed for 3 nights and that was enough for us to break the city routine of our everyday life. Krishna from the concierge organised a fun day out to Chamarelle where we saw the 7 sand earth, giant turtles and the magnificent waterfall. We ended the day at Curious Corner which the kids (and I loved).Guest review byMonaUnited Arab Emirates
